It’s the Holiday season and one of the biggest traditions this time of year is presents under the tree. In the basketball world, having a terrific prospect come to their program is like a present under the tree with a college coach’s name on the tag. With all the talent in the state of Michigan, there are plenty of seniors that will be gifts to their college team.
Here are a few of those senior players that will truly be gifts to college coaches:
[player_tooltip player_id="335984" first="Olivia" last="Bussell"] (CG, Monroe)
Bussell will be at Rochester University next year. She’s the kind of player that, well, I don’t see any way that she doesn’t succeed. Bussell just works too hard and leaves too much on the floor. Every coach wants the type of player that she is on their roster.
[player_tooltip player_id="147714" first="Mya" last="Petticord"] (PG, Arbor Prep)
Petticord stepped into high school with a star flare and mentality and she’s leaving it as, quite frankly, one of the better players I’ve ever seen in the state. She’s taking her talents to Texas A&M next season and believe me, the SEC better watch out.
[player_tooltip player_id="147721" first="Sydney" last="Pnacek"] (SF, Dexter)
Pnacek is headed to Hillsdale next year. Pnacek is a very talented player with an extremely high upside. Screenshot this, because in the next 2-4 years, you’ll be seeing a star at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="147746" first="Lauren" last="Sollom"] (F, Hartland)
Sollom is off to Saginaw Valley State when her time at Hartland is through. Sollom has all the tools to be a star at the next level. SVSU coaches have to be thrilled to gain such a matchup nightmare for their opponents.
[player_tooltip player_id="147743" first="Maeve" last="St. John"] (CG, Howell)
The Northwood coaching staff deserves a congratulations. They landed a premier type backcourt prospect. St. John can score and distribute at a high level.
[player_tooltip player_id="147720" first="Jaci" last="Tubergen"] (SG, Hudsonville)
Tubergen is headed to Bowling Green State University. Honestly, BGSU should put a ribbon on the car she arrives in. Tubergen is an elite shooter and that shot making ability will transfer to the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="147717" first="Madisen" last="Wardell"] (F, Detroit Edison)
DePaul coaches should be grinning from ear to ear in anticipation of Wardell’s arrival. Trust me when I say, she’s going to have an influence at the next level. Her versatility, athleticism, and basketball IQ is an elite combination.
