We may be on break from school, but high school basketball is going strong. There was some high quality hoops on Tuesday with some terrific performances. I'll take a look at some of these players below.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244745" first="Braxcynn" last="Baker"] (2024, G, Lowell)</strong>
Baker is continuing to show that she’s a premier player in Michigan’s class of 2024. She was dominant in a 62-52 win over Jenison. Baker scored from all over the court, tallying 27 total for the game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189288" first="Kennedy" last="Blair"] (2023, G, Divine Child)</strong>
Big time players show up in big games and that’s what Blair did. In an impressive win over Plymouth Christian, she scored 29 points. Blair contributed in all facets of the game, touching every corner of the stat sheet.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="230801" first="Maddie" last="Ebbert"] (2023, G, Lake Orion)</strong>
Ebbert’s numbers weren’t huge, but she was more than critical in a 45-30 win against Rochester Adams. Ebbert’s overall game on both ends is very underrated. She finished the contest with 12 points and 4 assists.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147716" first="Abbey" last="Kimball"] (2022, PG, Grand Rapids West Catholic)</strong>
Kimball was key in a 64-32 victory over Forest Hills Central. She scored 11 points, but it was her work on D that really put her on this list. Kimball set the tone defensively and her team responded.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="280208" first="Ryann" last="Locke"] (2022, G, Springport)</strong>
Locke got it done on both ends in a win over Napoleon. She caught fire on offense, scoring 24 points in the game. Meanwhile, she controlled the action on defense as well notching 11 steals.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189298" first="Alexcis" last="Parker"] (2023, G, Flint Powers)</strong>
Parker was her teams leading scorer, dropping 19 in a 66-26 win over Swartz Creek. She continues to show an offensive prowess out of the backcourt.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147726" first="Zoey" last="Persails"] (2022, G, Frankenmuth)</strong>
Persails is really stepping this season and did it again on Tuesday. She led her team with 18 points in a 67-31 victory of Standish-Sterling. Persails is proving that she’s ready, willing, and able to be the go to scoring option.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="256555" first="Mady" last="Weber"] (2023, F, Hopkins)</strong>
Hopkins lost to Hamilton by 5, but Weber continues to show her upside as a player and prospect. She finished the game with 15 points. Weber continues to score at high clip and at a high percentage.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189318" first="Alyssa" last="Wypych"] (2023, PG, Rockford)</strong>
Wypych has been playing solid basketball for a while now, so this performance comes as no surprise. She had 17 points in a 52-36 win over Grand Rapids Catholic Central. Wypych is proving to be an electric scorer at the point.
