Hannah Hidalgo Hannah Hidalgo 5'7" | PG Paul VI | 2023 State NJ – Paul VI
It’s become somewhat of an expectation now that Hidalgo has an incredible game every game of the season, but this rematch against rival Cherokee meant something different. Hidalgo came out and balled out, scoring 26 points and recording five rebounds and five steals in a 40-35 statement victory. Through the first six games of this season, Hidalgo is one of the top scorers in the entire state, averaging 31.3 PPG for the Eagles.
Aaryn Battle Aaryn Battle 5'8" | SF Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ – Camden Catholic
Battle bounced back from a tough game against Paul VI with a season-high 19 points and nine rebounds in a dominant 71-20 win over Cherry Hill East. Her passing has been on point so far, recording at least six assists for the third-straight game. Her five steals tied a season high as well. This junior guard is quickly finding her way on this Camden Catholic team, which spells disaster for opponents the rest of the season.
Mia Robbins Mia Robbins 5'11" | C Eastern Regional | 2022 State NJ – Eastern
It’s taken Robbins a few games to get back to form, but Tuesday’s 49-25 win against Winslow was her best performance in a while: 21 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Eastern has struggled without her at full strength, but this is a promising sign for the remainder of the year that Robbins is able to dominate once again on both sides of the floor.
Avery Kessler Avery Kessler SG Shawnee | 2023 State NJ – Shawnee
Kessler has turned on another gear since transferring to Shawnee and once again, she was the star of a 59-38 win over Seneca, scoring a game-high 16 points, along with a career-high 11 steals. She’s a multi-dimensional guard who is a great shooter and can change the momentum of a game on a dime. Kessler is averaging 14.3 PPG and two made three-pointers through seven games this season.
Katie Fricker Katie Fricker SG Cherokee | 2022 State NJ – Cherokee
Fricker is finally having the breakout year many have been expecting of her as her and Gabby Recinto Gabby Recinto 5'10" | SF Cherokee | 2023 State NJ are Cherokee’s two main pieces this season. She had a career-high 20 points in the Chiefs’ 40-35 loss to Paul VI and is leading the team in scoring so far at 12.8 PPG. The three-point specialist is carving out her spot as one of the best guards in the conference as we speak.
