Area Play: 2022 Guards Under the Radar

<span style="font-size: 14pt;">We are at the midway point of area play, and teams are making their way for seeding.  These are some senior guards that we need to know their names and the body of work that have been doing this year.  I always say it about putting on that hard hat every time you step on the floor.  It may not be the flashiest but just getting the job done.</span> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">2022 [player_tooltip player_id="319561" first="Camille" last="Chase"] | PG 5-6 | Spain Park.  Camille has been on varsity since 7th grade and has always been one of those players that made a difference for Spain Park.  She is a pure shooter and will make you pay if you don’t pick her up once she crosses half-court.  Her basketball IQ is way above average; she is that coach on the floor and makes things happen, like seeing that open player and getting her the ball as an example.  Camille has been an all-state player for the last two years.</span> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">2022 [player_tooltip player_id="329940" first="Maya" last="Cable"] | CG 5-6 | Sparkman High School.  Maya is that "hard hat" player on her team; she does what is asked of her for the team, she can shoot, especially in transition.  She is averaging 11.2ppg this year and is very disruptive on the defense side. Maya was probably one of the most underrated players in this class, but not now. Her team; Sparkman is currently ranked #5 in 7A.</span> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">2022 [player_tooltip player_id="320514" first="Jala" last="Hutchins"] | PG 5-6 | Midfield.  "Bugg" as she is affectionately called, is that HHP (Hard Hat Player) for Midfield.  She has been on varsity for four years, plays good defense, taking charges, guarding the opponent’s best player, crashing the boards on the defensive side of the court, and taking that shot when left open.  When watching Midfield, you will know who Bugg is; she will be smiling but focused. Her team; Midfield is currently ranked #3 in 2A</span> <span style="font-size: 14pt;">2022 [player_tooltip player_id="318433" first="Faith" last="Johnson"] | CG 5-9 | Talladega County Central.  Faith is that player in 2A that scores, scores, and scores some more; she is a 2,000+ career points player at Talladega County Central and is averaging 23.6ppg as of now.  She can handle the ball, score in transition, distribute the ball, and has a very nice shot.  Faith is also an excellent student in the classroom with a 3.6 GPA.  Her team; Talladega County Central is currently ranked #6 in 1A.</span> I will continue to write about players in each class as the seasons begins to wind down, and postseason starts. &nbsp; &nbsp;
