Kylie Wittnebel Kylie Wittnebel 6'0" | PF Beaver Dam | 2023 WI -6’1 F-Beaver Dam
The Golden Beaver’s forward is a part of an elite frontcourt duo with sophomore Gabby Wilke Gabby Wilke 6'1" | PF Beaver Dam | 2024 State WI . I have seen Wittnebel play twice, and I’ve left impressed with what she does. I don’t remember many plays ran for the junior, but she still manages to be Beaver Dam’s second-leading scorer. Wittnebel dominates the rebounding department for the Golden Beaver’s, especially offensive rebounds. In games against Madison Memorial and Reedsburg, I felt the 6-foot-1 forward dominated the boards. That level of control is also displayed when Wittnebel defends in the paint, serving as an excellent deterrent for guards attacking the paint.
Lexie White Lexie White 5'11" | SG Wausau West | 2023 State WI -5’11 G/F-Wausau West
The one word I’d use to describe the season that White’s having, lethal. White has taken a massive leap since her sophomore season, with significant improvements in her scoring numbers, and has led her team with over 18 points per game while being efficient. If this keeps up, there is a chance she could end up being one of the best prospects in Wisconsin. The only thing left for White to prove is that she can keep this up for an entire season, and I expect she will. Keep an eye on Wausau West in the postseason.
Chloe Vogel Chloe Vogel 5'8" | CG St Mary Catholic | 2023 State WI -5’8 G-St. Mary Catholic
Although Vogel scored more points per game a season ago, the Zephyr has been much better this season. The wing has improved her overall shooting by a great deal. In every aspect of her game, her numbers are up. She’s rebounding more, dishing out more assists, and shooting better percentage-wise from the field, 3-point line, and the free-throw line. The left-handed guard also gets to her shot relatively quickly. There is a tiny rhythm hitch that she has before she shoots. That said, it doesn’t delay the shot or cause issues with results. I’m a big fan of Vogel’s and wouldn’t be surprised to see her get even better as a senior.
Sammie Buss Sammie Buss 5'5" | PG Neenah | 2023 State WI -5’5 PG-Xavier
Coming off of a torn ACL in May, Buss is starting to get back to where she was. Much of the reason her shooting numbers look down is one game against Waupun, where things didn’t go Xavier’s way. Outside of that, she’s shown flashes of being the Sammie Buss Sammie Buss 5'5" | PG Neenah | 2023 State WI we knew before her injury. In three of Buss’ seven games back, she’s hit five or more threes. I believe there is an elite-level shooter with Buss, and that shooter has a ton of range and can extend defenses. As she gets more comfortable on her knee, you will see a player who will likely rise in the next edition of the ’23 rankings.
Grace Schisel Grace Schisel 5'8" | SG New Holstein | 2023 State WI -5’8 SG-New Holstein
To be clear, Schisel is one of the most gifted scorers in Wisconsin. In a game against Sheboygan Lutheran, the Huskies made nine 3’s on 15 attempts. The junior also does an excellent job shooting off of the dribble. That threat makes her a danger to attack the basket, which leads to her getting to the free-throw line. She has taken over six free throws a game on average and has shot over 94% from the line. I’m not sure where she projects right now because of a few factors. That said, what she’s been doing is making her one of the most intriguing scorers in Wisconsin.
