Over the weekend it was a big basketball event being held at Berlin Hiland Highschool Classic in the Country where all teams from everywhere were in attendance, there were ranked teams in the State of Ohio, ranked players in the State of Ohio. We have also seen players that made a name for themselves and stood out. we saw some half-court buzzer-beaters, we saw some overtime games there was just some good excitement in the gym over the weekend we are about to take a look at some standouts and players that worked the classic. [player_tooltip player_id="32600" first="KK" last="Bransford"] 5’11 PG Mount Notre Dame 23 & 24 PTS Game 1 & 2 KK Reigning Miss Basketball and University of Notre Dame Recruit showed over two of the three days why she is the number 1 player in her class. She is a physical guard that can play multiple positions and is very skilled at it. She plays at her pace gets everyone involved in the game and let the game come to her, She never shows any frustration on the floor it doesn’t matter if they are down by 8 in the 4th quarter with 4 minutes left she never panic under pressure. She moves great without the ball, she makes sharp cuts to get to her spot. smooth mid-range game, with her size she can even split defenders make without drawing a foul getting to the rim and scoring. Big-time player looking to take her team back to the states back in March. [player_tooltip player_id="32618" first="Imarianah" last="Russell"] 6’0 SF Reynoldsburg 22 PTS 7 REB Mari a University of West Virginia Recruit is a polished player she is long and athletic, she plays the passing lane get’s her hand on the ball and finishes at the rim with ease, she has a smooth touch around the rim, She plays good defense so there aren’t any easy baskets, she has excellent court vision to find the open player in traffic, has all around game, she can take you to the outside get the jump shot or take you off the dribble and get to the rim. She can shoot the ball from deep also she has a strong IQ of the game lets continue to see where she leads this team [player_tooltip player_id="211792" first="Mya" last="Perry"] 5’11 SG Reynoldsburg 20 PTS 7 STL Mya is another recruit that will be attending the Ohio State University, She is another tough one from Reynoldsburg she is long athletic with great hands and she can get up and down the court in a hurry. She can shoot lights out with the ball from deep nice mid-range game also where she can get in the paint and score or facilitate with her great vision, she can get to the basket in a hurry she has a good form with a quick pull up three ball, she has that quick release where she can score in a hurry. Plays solid defense where she make’s it hard on the defender to score, very active player that will have success in her career [player_tooltip player_id="312659" first="Lauryn" last="Stover"] 5’11 SF Gilmour Academy 19 PTS Lauryn is a Purdue Fort Wayne recruit is a smooth low post player who goes after it on the defense and offensive end, there isn’t really a time where she take plays off and getting rebounds, Plays hard every play fights through traffic to score down-low, soft touch around the basket never really takes a bad shot, have extended her range to the 3 point line she will shoot the ball if she is left open. Very solid basketball player lets continue to see what she can do for the Lancers. Anna Krupa 5’6 SG Tri-Valley 17 PTS Anna had herself a busy weekend played here at the Classic in the Country and played at the Classic in the City. This guard can get the job done, she can play defense, scoring the ball in multiple way driving to the basket, mid range shot is on point and her deep range ball is there. Her energy level is great didn’t panic just played ball. she can see the floor to make passes to her open teammates she is a good offensive weapon [player_tooltip player_id="211793" first="Abby" last="Wolterman"] 6’0 F Mount Notre Dame 16 PTS 9 REB & 8 PTS 12 REB Abby is a Walsh University Commit, plays hard with a motor that seems like it never stops, in the two games she total 24pts and 21 reb, She goes after every rebound she can get her hands on , I seen multiple rebounds given her and her team second chances to score the ball and given extra possessions she is a hustle player should be one of her on every team. Maggie Verhoff 5’6 SG Ottawa-Glandorf 17 PTS Maggie is a knock down shooter if you leave her open, 5 three pointers in one game. Moves well without the ball to get to the open spot on the floor, runs off the screens to knock down the shot, she will get in the midst and grab rebounds and look for her teammate to give them a good outlet pass as well. Keep an eye out for this young player
