<strong>Forty One Florida players nominated to McDonald’s All-American Game </strong>

<em>McDonald’s USA announced 760+ Nominees for the 2022 All American Games in Chicago earlier this week and 41 of them hail from Florida. The Games are returning in March with the final roster of 48 players being named later this month. </em>
The McDonalds All American Game returns in 2022 and a new generation is set to leave it all on the court as more than 760 girls and boys high school basketball players from across the country have been nominated for a chance to play in the 45<sup>th</sup> anniversary McDonald’s All-American Games. The annual event returns this March, to showcase the nation’s rising stars who will go head-to-head at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

Players were nominated by either a high school coach, athletic director, principal, or member of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee. This year’s nominees represent 41 states and the District of Columbia, and 41 of the players hail from the state of Florida. The top 24 girls and 24 boys selected to play in the 2022 McDonald’s All-American Games will be revealed Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022 on ESPN’s “NBA Today” between 3-4 p.m. ET. Fans can then tune in to the McDonald’s All American Girls Game on Tuesday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and the Boys Game immediately following on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET.

Florida was represented by 73 players both boys and girls, with 41 of them being girls. Florida’s nominations were good for third in total nominees behind Texas and California. Three of this year’s nominees are in the top 30 in scoring with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91592" first="Kayla" last="Smith"]</strong> coming in at # 15 in the state with 22.3 PPG, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91562" first="Addison" last="Potts"]</strong> at # 16 with 22.2 PPG, and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91556" first="Tonie" last="Morgan"]</strong> at # 29 with 20.2 PPG. While <strong>Marrisa Brown</strong> is # 4 in the state in rebounding with 15.2 RPG and <strong>Halei Murrel</strong> is # 15 in the state for steals with 6.1 SPG.

<strong>WHERE ARE THEY HEADED </strong>

UCF had a big in-state haul with for headed to suit up for the Knights next season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91577" first="Amiya" last="Evans"]</strong>,<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="219954" first="Fatima" last="Diakhate"]</strong>,<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="91579" first="Savannah" last="Henderson"]</strong>, and<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="91585" first="Stefanie" last="Ingram"] </strong>are all part of UCF 2022 recruiting class and are expected to make impact as they transition to the Big 12.
