Who Shined in the 4A State Semifinals

Class 4A tipped off its state semifinal action at UNF Arena, and by the end of the night Jacksonville had witnessed two very different paths to the championship game. Bishop Moore Catholic High School opened the evening by handling Booker High School, while Bishop Kenny High School followed with a hard-fought win over American Heritage School in front of a strong local crowd. The results set up an intriguing championship showdown — a true Battle of the Bishops — where coaching adjustments, tempo control, and execution could turn the title game into a strategic chess match. Before that matchup tips, here's a look at the key performers who made the biggest impact in the semifinals.    Kathleen was outstanding in leading BK to a state championship appearance. She finished with 17 points on an efficient 7-for-11 shooting from the field while adding 6 rebounds, 3 assists to just 1 turnover, and 2 steals. KK scored at will, doing most of her damage in the midrange and at the rim without really even needing to rely on the deep shot she's so capable of knocking down. She played all 32 minutes and did so with poise and intelligence, elevating confidently into her midrange looks and making the right reads throughout. Her strong first half was especially important, helping Bishop Kenny build an early cushion and setting the tone for the rest of the game. KK was a major catalyst in punching BK's ticket to the state championship.     Kylee set the tone early for Bishop Moore Catholic, opening the scoring with a three-pointer and controlling the tempo through the second and third quarters. She finished with 18 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals, consistently getting to the rim and finishing with ease. Her athleticism allowed her to rise for midrange shots and finish strong inside, while her length, awareness, and skill showcased why she's a top-5 prospect in Florida's 2029 class. Kylee's standout performance was a key factor in helping Bishop Moore reach the state championship game.     Jaiden was electric in the second quarter for Bishop Moore, scoring 13 points to help build a double-digit lead before halftime. She finished with 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals while running the offense with her handles and crafty playmaking. Jaiden's ability to create for herself and teammates made her a shifty and efficient facilitator, shooting 8-for-13 from the field and looking comfortable from every level. Her performance was a major reason Bishop Moore advanced to the state championship game.     Shea controlled the game from the point guard spot and played well beyond her years in helping Bishop Kenny reach the state title game. The freshman finished with 9 points and 3 assists while shooting an efficient 4-for-7 from the field. She handled the ball and pressure well throughout the game, consistently getting BK into their offensive sets while keeping the offense organized. Shea also used her speed and agility to create opportunities for herself and her teammates, becoming especially dangerous when attacking downhill. Her poise, pace, and decision-making were key factors in helping lead Bishop Kenny to the state championship game.     Yvette came alive in the third quarter for Booker, helping her team get within striking distance with her relentless effort. She finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds, accounting for nearly a third of Booker's scoring, despite being a primary focus for the Hornets' defense. Yvette still managed to create off the dribble, shooting 7-for-14 from the field, and added 2 steals. The senior showed tremendous heart and determination in the second half, keeping her team competitive against a tough Bishop Moore squad.     Yinuo played all 32 minutes for American Heritage, finishing with 12 points while shooting efficiently even in tight spaces. She created her own looks, handled the ball, and ran the offense with poise, showing shifty and creative playmaking throughout the game. A steady leader all season, Yinuo kept her team organized and competitive, even though it just wasn't their night in the semifinals.
