There was a lot of excitement in gyms across Michigan last. What could possibly be better than a heavy dose of buckets to keep us entertained on a Friday? Let’s look at some of players that lit up the scoreboard last night. [player_tooltip player_id="147729" first="Taylor" last="Anderson"] (2022, SF, South Lyon East) Anderson is so smooth and athletic attacking off the wing. In her team’s 64-24 win over South Lyon, she led the way with 20 points. [player_tooltip player_id="244745" first="Braxcynn" last="Baker"] (2024, CG, Lowell) Baker’s team picked up a 64-411 win over Forest Hills Central. She’s an elite bucket getter in the state and that was very evident in this 31 point performance. [player_tooltip player_id="147718" first="Rakiyah" last="Beal"] (2022, SF, Hamtamck) Beal led the way offensively in a 71 to 64 win over Southfield Christian. Beal paced her team with 30 points, showing the ability to shoot as well as create off the bounce and in the open floor. [player_tooltip player_id="188582" first="Macy" last="Brown"] (2023, PG, East Grand Rapids) Her team was defeated by Byron Center, but Brown displayed her offensive acumen. The recent University of Michigan commit finished the game with 33 points. [player_tooltip player_id="244267" first="Summer" last="Davis"] (2024, PG, West Bloomfield) Davis was terrific for West Bloomfield in their win over Stoney Creek. She paved the path with a 21 point performance and is showing why, in my opinion, she could be a top notch floor general nationwide. [player_tooltip player_id="147783" first="Izzy" last="Hadley"] (2022, PG, Clarkston) Hadley was huge in Clarkston’s 71-38 win over Southfield A&T. She finished the night with 23 points. Desrae Kyles (2023, PF, Benton Harbor) Kyles led the offensive charge in a big win over Brandywine. She put up 21 points in the game, controlling the action around the rim. [player_tooltip player_id="280208" first="Ryann" last="Locke"] (2022, PG,Springport) Locke earned good looks at the rim all night in her team’s win against Homer. She had 21 total points. [player_tooltip player_id="147752" first="Melanie" last="Moore"] (2022, C, Bishop Foley) Moore’s Bishop Foley squad picked up a strong 74-28 win. She led the way with 26 points. Moore has always been one of the most efficient low post scorers around. Maddux Overweg (2024, CG, Springport) Overweg dominated the perimeter in Springport’s 55-34 victory against Homer. She shot the ball extremely well and tallied 25 points in the game. [player_tooltip player_id="277640" first="Batoul" last="Reda"] (2022, CGFordson) Fordson fell to a strong Belleville squad, but Reda still went off for a 37 point night. Seven games into the season, she is averaging just over 30 points per game. [player_tooltip player_id="281849" first="Gabrielle" last="Reynolds"] (2024, PG, West Ottawa) Reynolds had a total of 20 points in an impressive 45-37 win over East Kentwood. She continues to show why she’s a top prospect in Michigan’s class of 2024 and should be considered for a top 100 spot nationwide. [player_tooltip player_id="147767" first="Madison" last="Skorupski"] (2022, CG, Clarkston) Skorupski continued to show why she’s one of the top unsigned seniors in the state. She had 23 points in a win over Southfield A&T. Skorupski is a versatile and well rounded scorer. [player_tooltip player_id="335988" first="Angelina" last="Tringali"] (2023, SG, Oakland Christian) Oakland Christian defeated Dryden to move their record to 7-0. Tringali’s offensive fireworks have been a big part of their success. She racked up her 4th 20 plus point game this season. [player_tooltip player_id="244286" first="Leila" last="Wells"] (2024, SG, Chelsea) Chelsea picked up a quality win over Stockbridge by a score of 58-49. Wells, a silky smooth perimeter talent for the Bulldogs, kept the scoreboard moving for the Bulldogs. She led the team with 23 points. [player_tooltip player_id="147727" first="Nevaeh" last="Williams"] (2022, CG, Mount Clemens) Her team was dominant in a 71-27 victory. In the win, Williams continued her offensive onslaught this season. She absolutely exploded for an eye popping 60 point game. This is the 4th high total points scored by a player in MHSAA history.
