There was a lot of excitement in gyms across Michigan last. What could possibly be better than a heavy dose of buckets to keep us entertained on a Friday? Let’s look at some of players that lit up the scoreboard last night.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147729" first="Taylor" last="Anderson"] (2022, SF, South Lyon East)</strong>
Anderson is so smooth and athletic attacking off the wing. In her team’s 64-24 win over South Lyon, she led the way with 20 points.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244745" first="Braxcynn" last="Baker"] (2024, CG, Lowell)</strong>
Baker’s team picked up a 64-411 win over Forest Hills Central. She’s an elite bucket getter in the state and that was very evident in this 31 point performance.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147718" first="Rakiyah" last="Beal"] (2022, SF, Hamtamck)</strong>
Beal led the way offensively in a 71 to 64 win over Southfield Christian. Beal paced her team with 30 points, showing the ability to shoot as well as create off the bounce and in the open floor.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="188582" first="Macy" last="Brown"] (2023, PG, East Grand Rapids)</strong>
Her team was defeated by Byron Center, but Brown displayed her offensive acumen. The recent University of Michigan commit finished the game with 33 points.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244267" first="Summer" last="Davis"] (2024, PG, West Bloomfield)</strong>
Davis was terrific for West Bloomfield in their win over Stoney Creek. She paved the path with a 21 point performance and is showing why, in my opinion, she could be a top notch floor general nationwide.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147783" first="Izzy" last="Hadley"] (2022, PG, Clarkston)</strong>
Hadley was huge in Clarkston’s 71-38 win over Southfield A&T. She finished the night with 23 points.
<strong>Desrae Kyles (2023, PF, Benton Harbor)</strong>
Kyles led the offensive charge in a big win over Brandywine. She put up 21 points in the game, controlling the action around the rim.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="280208" first="Ryann" last="Locke"] (2022, PG,Springport)</strong>
Locke earned good looks at the rim all night in her team’s win against Homer. She had 21 total points.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147752" first="Melanie" last="Moore"] (2022, C, Bishop Foley)</strong>
Moore’s Bishop Foley squad picked up a strong 74-28 win. She led the way with 26 points. Moore has always been one of the most efficient low post scorers around.
<strong>Maddux Overweg (2024, CG, Springport)</strong>
Overweg dominated the perimeter in Springport’s 55-34 victory against Homer. She shot the ball extremely well and tallied 25 points in the game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="277640" first="Batoul" last="Reda"] (2022, CGFordson)</strong>
Fordson fell to a strong Belleville squad, but Reda still went off for a 37 point night. Seven games into the season, she is averaging just over 30 points per game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="281849" first="Gabrielle" last="Reynolds"] (2024, PG, West Ottawa)</strong>
Reynolds had a total of 20 points in an impressive 45-37 win over East Kentwood. She continues to show why she’s a top prospect in Michigan’s class of 2024 and should be considered for a top 100 spot nationwide.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147767" first="Madison" last="Skorupski"] (2022, CG, Clarkston)</strong>
Skorupski continued to show why she’s one of the top unsigned seniors in the state. She had 23 points in a win over Southfield A&T. Skorupski is a versatile and well rounded scorer.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="335988" first="Angelina" last="Tringali"] (2023, SG, Oakland Christian)</strong>
Oakland Christian defeated Dryden to move their record to 7-0. Tringali’s offensive fireworks have been a big part of their success. She racked up her 4th 20 plus point game this season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244286" first="Leila" last="Wells"] (2024, SG, Chelsea)</strong>
Chelsea picked up a quality win over Stockbridge by a score of 58-49. Wells, a silky smooth perimeter talent for the Bulldogs, kept the scoreboard moving for the Bulldogs. She led the team with 23 points.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147727" first="Nevaeh" last="Williams"] (2022, CG, Mount Clemens)</strong>
Her team was dominant in a 71-27 victory. In the win, Williams continued her offensive onslaught this season. She absolutely exploded for an eye popping 60 point game. This is the 4th high total points scored by a player in MHSAA history.
