Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top standouts from last Saturday’s Big 3 Athletics Legends of Hardwood Shootout at Van Buren.
[player_tooltip player_id="200722" first="Kaylee" last="King"] (Ellington): The 5’4 2023 guard was on fire on Saturday as she scored a game-high 40 points to lead the Lady Whippets past Houston. She is a certified bucket who can score from all three levels while also being able to create a shot from just about any angle.
[player_tooltip player_id="162474" first="Madison" last="Ayers"] (South Iron): A 5’8 2023 combo guard who has the motor and skill level to impact a game at both ends of the court. She has good court vision, solid handles and 3-point range. She is also a good on-ball defender who really hawks the ball.
[player_tooltip player_id="168740" first="Gretchen" last="Hackworth"] (Ellington): The 5’8 2023 guard scored 14 points in a victory over Alton. She’s a solid rebounder who can handle it and pass it. She can also shoot the :-pointer off the catch.
Megan Lashley (South Iron): A 202x forward who has good length to get blocked shots inside and deflections on the perimeter. She’s effective at scoring inside with both hands. She’s also a good passer from the high post.
Madison Dunn (Bismarck): A 2022 guard who put on quite a performance in her team’s victory over Van Buren. She scored a game high 40 points while knocking down 3-pointers from all over the gym. She was very good at shooting 3s off the dribble. All she needed was a little room and she let it fly.
[player_tooltip player_id="243350" first="Dylan" last="Price"] (Ellington): A 5’9 2024 guard who plays with a lot of pace at both ends of the court. She attacks well off the dribble, which includes a nice cross-over move to get into the lane. She works the passing lanes on defense and she operates well in the transition game.
