<span style="font-weight: 400;">We are a couple of weeks of away from district tournament play. Seeding for the various divisional tournaments have yet to be determined.. Teams have been jockeying for position these past weeks, trying to grab a good seed to put them in position to advance. Games have been tight, teams fighting tooth and nail, doing anything possible to gain ground in the standings.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">In the midst of all this, there have been some outstanding young ladies who have stood out this past week. Doing whatever they can to contribute to their team’s success. Knocking down clutch shots, providing timely assist, and playing lockdown defense. They have brought the energy and stepped up their level of play to help lead their team to victory. Here are a few young ladies in Middle Tennessee whose stock is rising due to their sound play over the past couple of games.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="285387" first="Emaleigh" last="Tarpley"] (5’11/ Jr. / Rockvale)</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- This stretch forward can play inside and out. She sees the floor really well. Can knock down the 15 footer consistently, yet can put the ball on the floor and finish at the rim. She brings the energy nightly and isn’t afraid to do the dirty work like taking charges. </span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="421980" first="Atiya" last="Moss"] (5’9/ Jr./ Clarksville Academy)</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- Combo guard who is a multi-level scoring threat. Has consistently scored in double figures for her club, while dropping timely assists. Phenomenal with the ball in her hands and plays the game with poise. </span>
<b>Tonie Davis (5’8/ Jr./ Rockvale)</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- Wing player who can pound inside the painted area. Tonie can dial it from beyond the arc, yet bang inside with the best of them. She anticipates well, flashing to open gaps to score the ball. Defensively, she contributes on the boards, grabbing rebounds that lead to fast break opportunities.</span>
<b>MJ Simmons (5’10/ Jr./ Community)</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- Fundamentally sound, MJ is a hard nose play. Offensively, knows how to use her body to finish through contact in the paint. Can knock down shots from the short corner and elbow consistently. Defensively, owning the boards is her mission. She is a near double-double nightly in both points and rebounds.</span>
<b>Lindsey Summerell (5’8/ Jr./ Battle Ground Academy)-</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Plays with a chip on her shoulder, Lindsey plays every possession like she has something to prove. Possesses great foot speed, a high basketball IQ, and reads the defense well, she thrives on scoring the ball in unique situations. She can shoot the 3 ball, knock down the 15 footer, and can go inside to finish at the rim. Defensively, she flys around doing whatever she can to create havoc.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="245292" first="Jailyn" last="Banks"] (5’9/Jr./ Middle Tennessee Christian)</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- Heady combo guard who plays the game of basketball the right way. Has a little sauce to her game, where she can carve up any type of defense thrown at her. From knocking down clutch shots to feeding the post, she is a great offensive weapon for the Lady Cougars. She has more than just a offensive game as she is phenomenal getting hands on ball. Poking the ball from opponents to jumping passing lanes, Jailyn is fantastic at creating fast break opportunities.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="245343" first="Macy" last="Phelps"] (5’7/ Jr. East Robertson)</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- Gym rat who is a natural born hustler. Macy brings a lot to the table for her East Robertson club. She’s an unselfish player who has great court awareness. From knocking down timely shots, feeding the hot hand, and playing good defense, Macy has helped contribute to her team’s recent uptick.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="245339" first="Ava" last="Granzow"] (5’10/ Jr./ Grace Christian Academy)</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- Post player who is slowly starting to come into her own. Can finish around the rim with a nice drop step or up and under move. AN anchor on the defensive end, where she contributes by blocking shots and grabbing rebounds. Look for her to take bigger strides has her confidence continues to grow.</span>
<b>Christiana Groves (5’11/ Fr./ Pearl-Cohn) </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">Youngster getting big time minutes early in her HS career, hard nosed player who has a knack for being around the ball. Offensively, she can shoot the rock, knocking down shots from multiple spots on the floor. Defensively, she is going to play lockdown defense and can guard multiple positions on the floor. Energetic kid who plays with a high motor.</span>
