Potential. The one word that can mean so many things. All kids start off with it, but some either live up to their potential or don't. I am a huge Tennessee Titans fan, and as a kid, I remember the Titans drafting someone, and I would be like, " Where in the world did that person come from? The reporters would be like, “This player has the potential to be good.” Being who I am, I am like OMG, we need someone who is legit right now. My point in telling that little tidbit is that I have a great feeling that the young ladies who go on to play ball from the ‘26 class will have the potential to do great things at the next level. All of these athletes are and will be solid additions for their prospective universities. Mark my words. Those who choose to embrace the opportunity will be solid additions to their prospective programs. Not all will pan out, but a good bit will become solid contributors that will help their squads reach new heights.

The ‘26 class has many accolades. Girls from this class did it right and put forth a resounding effort. Talk about a crop of girls who put their heads down and just got to work. They fulfilled their dreams, achieved many accomplishments, and some even became pioneers at their schools, making them tough acts to follow. I believe this class will be a solid crop that will make noise for their new programs. They won't be the type to flame out. I think we are going to see plenty of names from this state do big things at the next level.

Here are some young ladies who come to mind and have the “potential” to be impactful for their respective universities at the next level.

3,000+ point scorer, hundreds of rebounds, her body of work has really reached beyond measure. This kid got after it and brings a total game to the next level. If you have ever watched Vanderbilt, you may have seen a player on the squad named Sacha Washington, who has helped them tremendously this year. Kimora is that and more, as she can battle inside and stretch the floor. She has the intangibles to become an X factor at the next level, especially once she gets her feet wet. The skies are the limit for this prospect, and she has the makeup to go really far in this game.

This young lady is going to Maryville, and they get a true leader who is a solid kid on the floor, but an even better one off of it. She is a floor general who can change pace with ease. She can get buckets, but also control the pace of the game. She knows when to put her foot on the gas and when to slow it down for her club. Of course, she can score from all three levels, showcasing that nice lefty stroke. One of her underappreciated assets is her ability to defend. She is going to get into a stance and make it difficult for her opponents to operate. Maryville is getting a kid who will truly add value to their program.

Belmont just got faster and more athletic with this addition. This kid can play with or without the ball in her hands. She can create for others or create off the dribble for herself. Her speed is a tremendous asset, and she, too, can adjust her speed to reach favorable spots. Teams will have to honor her at the next level from all over the floor. She can pull it from deep, but if they overplay her, she can deliver a quick first step to elevate into her jumper. She will be a big-time addition to the Lady Bruins program.

No one saw the maturation process unfold so quickly. She has gone from a little-known prospect to one who quickly attracted the eyes of collegiate coaches. Heading to Missouri, I feel that once she gets comfortable with all the things: school, the physicality of the game, putting on more muscle, she too will be a solid addition that will make some noise in the SEC. Blessed with great size, she has good speed that enables her to stretch the floor. She is actually a solid ball handler, so she can create, especially from within the perimeter. She can stretch the floor or post up, but what impresses me is how she uses her body to defend opponents. She isn't one who's going to be out of position much, but will have the leverage to be in position to block shots and get rebounds. This kid is someone to watch as she contributes to the Lady Tigers' ball club.

One prospect I am excited about at the next level. As Tennessee Tech moves conferences, they will do so with a core of kids, and Zoey will have another battery mate with [player_tooltip player_id='513230' first='Maliyah' last='Glaspar']. A kid who can create for herself, she also opens the floor for others and can deliver passes, leaving defensemen scratching their heads. She can shoot from all over the floor, but her creativity and ability to secure the ball are truly great. She is a heady ballplayer who knows a defense's weaknesses and exploits them. She will even get after it on defense, locking up the opposition. A solid ballplayer who will probably be called upon early and often.
