Let’s take a look at some of the top performers from week 7 in Northeast Florida.
<strong>Taijshiah "Tai" Baldwin</strong> | University Christian | ’22
Tai continued to put up double figures in week 7. She is top 50 in scoring in the state of Florida and top 5 locally in Northeast Florida. She is one of the quickest players in Northeast Florida and she uses that speed on both ends of the floor. Tai scores often in transition off her disruptive defense. She is also a capable shooter which enables her to score on all three levels. She led her team to a 2-1 record this week. Tai had 21 points against Booker, 27 points against Viera, and 16 points against North Port.

Clare is known as one of the top defenders and rebounders in Northeast Florida. Recently, she has increased her offensive output. She is a very capable scorer but has been reluctant to score in the past. She has added responsibility with fellow frontcourt teammate [player_tooltip player_id="217663" first="Sydney" last="Roundtree"] out with injury and has stepped up to the challenge. Clare has helped her team to 3 wins this week. She had 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block against Gaither, 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block against Seminole, and 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 assist against Keswick Christian.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="248618" first="Kayla" last="Johnson"]</strong> | Sandalwood | ’22
Kayla is a shooter and forms a nice inside-out duo with teammate [player_tooltip player_id="91643" first="Jada" last="Jones"]. Teams have to pick their poison when they are on the same side of the floor. She can also switch it up and post-up smaller guards and score down low. She used her versatility to score 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists against Ocoee and 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists against Edgewater in week 7.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91643" first="Jada" last="Jones"]</strong> | Sandalwood | ’23
Jada draws a lot of attention on offense. She has a college-ready body and is virtually unstoppable with two feet in the paint. She faces double and triple teams on a nightly basis and still averages a double-double in points and rebounds. Jada had 12 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 5 blocks against Ocoee and 13 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals against Edgewater in week 7.
<strong>Irene Kabassubabo</strong> | Andrew Jackson | ’22
Irene is a good defender and rebounder. She can also score in the paint with ease and you don’t even have to call a play for her. She does a lot of things that don’t show up in the stat book to help her team. In week 7, Irene padded the stat sheet with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block against Deltona and 10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 steals, and 1 block against East River.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="195603" first="Zoriah" last="Mobley"]</strong> | San Jose Prep | ’22
Zoriah is a versatile player with a silky smooth left-handed jump shot and can score with either hand around the basket. She can play multiple positions on offense and defense which makes her a matchup nightmare for opposing teams. She has a wide range of moves in her bag that allow her to be able to score on all three levels. Zoriah used those moves in two wins in week 7 scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals against Foundation Academy and 28 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block against Apopka.
