All this week, we will be looking at some of the top players we saw. Today, I will take a look at some faces who are new to the PGH scene.
Madison Prigge, 5-6 2023, Patrick Henry
A guard who showed me good perimeter range in their game against Leipsic last week. She showed good court sense with solid basketball IQ and as a junior, provided some solid leadership for her team. Able to create and handles the ball well. Continuing to work on her game for a team that starts three sophomores.
Whitney Langhall, 5-4 2023, Leipsic
Loved her aggressiveness from the guard spot with a nose for the ball. Whitney is a good defender and showed good movement and can run the floor well in transition and finish. Able to play downhill and get to the rim to finish. Good defender, active and able to create. Once she becomes more consistent with her perimeter game, her stock will continue to rise.
Serena Baker, 5-11 2023, Kettering Fairmont
Quickly showed how much she has improved as Serena is an athletic player who is a hidden gem in the Dayton area, but for not much longer. She has good intensity and tenacity, defensively can force turnovers with her length and athletic frame. Good on the boards, gaining confidence every day. Will play for the Dayton Lady Hoopstars this spring.
Lanie Lipps Lanie Lipps 5'4" | PG Ross | 2025 OH , 5-2 2025, Hamilton Ross
She is drawing praises from opposing coaches as a player who is very fundamentally sound for a player her age. She is poised for a freshman and plays well under control. Has that swagger that makes her dangerous with the ball, and does a nice job directing the offense for her team. Finishes well at the rim.
Erin Schaufelberger, 5-11 2023, Van Wert
She possess good size and the ability to battle well in the paint. Won’t back down to her defender and does a nice job on the boards. Nice hands and can catch and shoot at the rim. Moves well without the ball, continues to improve with her game.
Iyanna Thompson-Carson, 5-3 2024, Northmont
The guard from the T-Bolts has good athleticism but just needs to continue to work on skill development. A very active player on the defensive side of the ball and quick to force turnovers. She is still young and has time to keep developing. Like her intensity.
