Here are a few 2025 players who caught the eye of PGH staff as we head into the post season. The statewide tournament draw is Sunday and the sectionals begin Feb, 7.
Taylee Woodbury Taylee Woodbury 5'6" | PG MIssissinawa Valley | 2025 State OH , 5-7 2025, Union City Mississinawa Valley- Her game is getting better every time she takes the floor. She has become a natural leader and point guard, and over the last three weeks she is averaging 8 assists per game. She also has averaged 15 ppg over that span. A solid floor leader with a good midrange shot, excellent handles and sees the floor well. A player coaches need to keep an eye on as she progresses in her game.
Gianna Lane, 5-8 2025, Tree of Life- This Central Ohio newcomer has established herself as one of the biggest scoring threats in that region. She has been putting on a show since the opening night, and has been dominating both ends of the floor with her speed, ability to stop opposing players with drives to the rim and strong help side defense. She can shoot consistently from anywhere and has deep range. Very composed and has a high ceiling.
Madi Singer, 5-7 2025, Smithville- A point guard who has put together a solid first season. They are a very young team and she is one of their leaders. She is a quick point guard who serves as a good playmaker for the Smithies in a very competitive Wayne County Athletic League. She is working hard to strengthen her perimeter game and she could develop into an all-state type lead guard.
Brooke Lehmkuhl Brooke Lehmkuhl 6'2" | C Wellington | 2025 State OH , 5-11 2025, Wellington- While her team has been around .500 all season, Lehmkuhl has shows that her future looks bright. She is a solid post player who has already established herself as a double-double machine this season. She is a long, athletic player who has the potential to become a face-up player, while she already is very solid with her back to the basket. Also a very good rebounder
Nadia Lough Nadia Lough 5'11" | SF Rootstown | 2025 State OH , 5-11 2025, Rootstown- A tough player to guard, she can handle the ball like a point guard and score like a post. Gets after it on the boards for second chance baskets, great moves in the paint, can squeeze through defenders to score and is a very smooth player in the midrange. She will continue to rise in the next few years.
Caitlyn Holmes Caitlyn Holmes 5'8" | CG Akron Ellet | 2025 State OH , 5-8 2025, Akron Ellet- The sky is the limit for this outstanding point guard, she is a smooth guard and can play with the ball in her hands. She can score at will and is a crafty player who can create her own shot for the three. Good court vision to find the open player and can see how the defense is going to set up against her. Can crash the boards well and can move well to find the open spots to get to.
