The Little Elm Lobos survived a second half comeback attempt vs. the Prosper Eagles on Tuesday, winning 65-57, and the Prestonwood Christian Academy Lions earned a dominant 62-27 home win over the Trinity Christian Academy Trojans on Friday. There were several individuals who caught my attention during these matchups. With that in mind, here are five standout forward prospects from this past week’s action:
Aniya Cramer | 2022 | 6’1” Power Forward | Little Elm HS – Cramer is a stretch four with a smooth shooting stroke from the outside. Smooth might be doing it a disservice, because her shots are pure. The senior forward knocked down a pair of catch-and-shoot triples vs. Prosper on Tuesday. She is fantastic at executing in pick-and-pop scenarios and has a really good feel as the screener. Beyond that, Cramer can score down low with bodies all around her. She is a weapon on a talented Little Elm roster.
Olivia Pennington | 2024 | 5’10” Power Forward/Small Forward | Prosper HS – Pennington provided valuable minutes off the bench for Prosper. She can stretch out to the mid-range area and do some damage as a spot up shooter, but also has enough physicality to operate and score in the post. The sophomore forward finished through contact in the paint on multiple occasions. She battled on the offensive glass too. Pennington ended the night with nine points and four rebounds.
Schuyler Noordhoff | 2022 | 5’11” Small Forward/Power Forward | Trinity Christian Academy – Noordhoff displayed excellent versatility vs. Prestonwood on Friday, particularly on defense. The TCA combo forward showed that she can defend perimeter and interior players, and impressively held her own for the most part while guarding PCA’s numerous 6-footers in the post. Noordhoff’s versatility extend to the other end of the floor as well. She drained a triple and a mid-range jumper, converted a three-point play at the foul line, and contributed on the defensive glass.
Allie Swindell | 2025 | 6’1” Power Forward | Prestonwood Christian Academy – Swindell put up a solid 8-point seven-rebound performance on Friday. She was terrific on the glass at both ends. The freshman forward was disciplined about boxing out and great at plucking the ball out of the air. She provided PCA with some scoring down low, while burying a corner three from the catch as well. Defensively, she did her part to discourage TCA from getting anything going in the paint, protecting the rim with her size and forcing the Trojans to work for every point they got, adding two blocks to her totals in the process.
Sydney McGary | 2022 | 6’4” Power Forward/Center | Prestonwood Christian Academy – McGary possesses great size. It allows her to completely control the defensive glass and limit the opposing teams’ second-chance opportunities. Her rebounding is superb, as she finished the night with 10 boards. The 2022 prospect is also a tremendous rim protector who impacts any attempt in her area code. Her teammates Mackenzie Nolan and Destinee Baker have deservedly received recognition for their record-breaking performances on Friday, but McGary’s double digit rebounding effort was a key part of their dominant victory too.
