Nina Emnace (So.) – 5-6 G, Trinity Hall
Emnace made up for lost time this season after missing the first four games and has been the catalyst of Trinity Hall’s four-game winning streak. She shoots with confidence and pushes the tempo on offense, weaving through lanes into the middle where she’s executes best. She mixes up her offense well, consistently knocking down three-point shots. The sophomore has stepped up her game from last season and looks more poised and mature, which will lead to further success.
Isabella Orlando (Sr.) – 5-11 PF/SF, Middletown South
Orlando has grown a lot the past year, having a strong summer into this season. She doesn’t fit the traditional forward role as while she’s proven to be a great defender in the middle and a go-to offensive option in the paint, her strong-suit is her three-point shooting. Orlando is a great off-ball player and has been more confident than ever from the perimeter. On the break, Orlando trails well to get more open looks from the wing, which seems to be her best spot.
Erica DiSimone (Jr.) – 5-7 PG, Marlboro
DiSimone has flashes where she can go off on offense, but she’s developed much more into a facilitator in the past few seasons. She plays an unselfish brand of basketball, starting on the defensive end where her agility and court awareness gets her plenty of turnover opportunities. That leads to fast break situations where she’s dishing the ball to open teammates. DiSimone controls the point well and helps open and spread the floor out, which gives her more passing lanes and her teammates more scoring plays.
Brooke McKown (Sr.) – SG/PF, Jackson Memorial
McKown is in the midst of a breakout senior season for Jackson Memorial and has been an incredible three-point shooter for the Jaguars. McKown has developed into a perimeter shooting specialist and lets it fly when she gets the ball. She’s found many open looks from three and is capitalizing off defensive mismatches. The more she continues to exploit defensive schemes, the more scoring opportunities that are going to fall in her lap this season.
Tessa Carman (Fr.) – 5-11 SG/PF, Red Bank Catholic
Carman quickly found her stride as a freshman for Red Bank Catholic and is proving to be one of the best young pure scorers in the Shore Conference. She utilizes her 5-11 frame well on defense to pressure opponents into bad shots and is a great shot-blocker. She’s quick on her feet, contributing to steals and on offense, that’s led to many scoring opportunities in the middle and an expanding range to the perimeter. Carman has already shown that she can score from anywhere and picks her spots well to catch opponents off-guard.
