Continue ReadingWe will be introducing the 2022 Rankings on the site this evening and we will be evaluating all of the newcomers that we added to the list. We have also updated the schools they have committed to as well. This list was put together by our team and has been out updating and ranking kids that we have actually seen, we have not seen everyone, so we are bound to miss a few here and there. This is a pretty good accurate list in our opinion from up and down the state, we do know that people will have their own opinions, but we are taking these evaluations from kids we have seen with our own eyes. Enjoy and tag the kids in this article, some may not know they are being written about.
Newcomers we have seen with our own eyes:
2022- 5’6 PG/SG, Peninsula HS, Kellie Au Kellie Au 5'6" | CG Peninsula | 2022 State CA – A true floor general this point guard is in control of her team on both ends of the floor. On defense her excellent communication skills helps her team in all aspects. Always in the right position, she is a great team defender. Offensively her poise and confidence allows her to convert tough finishes around the hoop, also is a solid shooter from the midrange and beyond the arc.
2022, 5’10, CG, Del Oro HS, Madison Butcher Madison Butcher 5'10" | SG Del Oro | 2022 State CA – is the ultimate athlete. She excels in all positions, including defense and offense. Butcher does an excellent job posting up down low. Her boxing out abilities is out of this world. She also isn’t only a great down low player, she can shoot from a far distance and make it the majority of this time. Her shooting form is on point, and she has a great follow-through that makes her shots very accurate. Madison averaged 10.1 PPG and scored a total of 353 points during her sophomore season. Butcher also averaged 2.1 APG, 5.2 RPG, and 1.6 SPG. Madison’s averaged field-goal percentage was 41%, and also averaged 79% from the free-throw line.
2022, 5’9, SF/PF Keniya Cleveland Keniya Cleveland 5'9" | SF Mayfair | 2022 State CA – A true anchor as a forward her instincts on defense stabilize a teams defense. She has great rebounding instincts and seems very comfortable around the cup. Needs to be respected in the midrange as well, and can take her defender off the dribble if need be. Her motor never stops and she has the conditioning and athleticism to stay consistent throughout the game.
2022, 5’11, CG, Gardena Serra HS, Jailah Donald Jailah Donald 5'11" | CG Serra Gardena | 2022 State CA – lets her game do all the talking. She is a well-composed player. She is very crafty when attacking the basket. She can finish through contact with both her right and left hand. Donald’s IQ is pretty high and knows how to score and make plays for her teammates. She crashes the offensive boards and gets easy rebound putbacks. She has a solid release and shoots the ball with confidence. She has the ability to take her defender off the dribble and pull-up in the key. She is pretty consistent from beyond the arc.
2022, 5’8, CG, Newport Harbor HS, Chase Dionio Chase Dionio 5'8" | CG Newport Harbor | 2022 State CA – Dionio is a very good combo guard. She has the scoring ability to play the two and the playmaking/passing to play the one. She pushes the pace well in transition. Good vision, she sees the floor well in halfcourt sets and is a fundamental passer, substance over style. Knows how to make a good entry pass. She’s a good ball-handler who can dribble under pressure. Hits defenders with a quick burst of speed off the dribble; can drive baseline and find open teammates on the cut.
2022, 5’7, G, Gardena Serra HS, Myanna Emery Myanna Emery 5'7" | CG Gardena Serra | 2022 State CA – Emery was instrumental in a come from behind Serra win over South Pasadena in their final game of the night. She did a good job moving without the ball; floating to the corners and getting herself free for an open three. She’s a great catch and shoot player with a quick release. Knocks down threes with consistency. She can also put the ball on the floor when the defense runs her off the three-point line. She can get into the lane and finish.
