2022, 5’8, SF, Rolling Hills Prep, Tatum Tamashiro Tatum Tamashiro 5'8" | SF Rolling Hills Prep | 2022 State CA – is capable of switching between both shooting guard and small forward and she can handle the ball well. She can initiate the offense in halfcourt sets and does a good job keeping the ball moving from side to side. Not really a point guard, but can be the primary playmaker. She has great vision can find open teammates. Does a good job handling the ball under defensive pressure. Her shot was a little off, but you can tell she’s a capable three-point shooter.
2022 5’9” SG, Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep, Nya Epps Nya Epps 5'9" | CG Carondelet | 2022 State CA – Nya is a combo guard type who fit in with the Stars as a versatile guard with the ability to score at any given time. She hit a game winner in regulation off an isolation play that showcased all of these abilities as she is also prepared for the big moment. Her biggest asset on offense comes in the form of the pull-up mid-range jumper but she can also hit it from deep and take it into the lane.
2022, 5’0, CG, Lauryn Fernandez Lauryn Fernandez 5'0" | SG St. Pius Academy | 2022 State CA – Lefty guard with a nice stroke on her shot, she made a driving floater of the dribble to bring the end of the quarter to a close. She is capable of handling the ball at the point guard spot and she can also lend some time at her natural spot of being a shooting guard.
2022, 5’9, G, Talia Garner Talia Garner 5'9" | CG Etiwanda | 2022 State CA – slender wing type with some good skills in the paint, can use both hands to score and can also shoot the ball. Good defender on the ball and is one of the best transition scorer on the team. She impressed us with the way she played on the floor, so aggressive on the offensive side of the ball, but like any other Etiwanda team, they were very aggressive on the defensive end. We were impressed…….
5’6, PG/SG, Jailyn Garrett Jailyn Garrett 5'8" | CG Monte Vista | 2022 State CA – This guard is an all around scoring threat, a three level scorer who can create for herself as well as setting up her team. Can shoot of the dribble or in catch and shoot situations. Defensively her motor and communication make her a great on ball and help defender. She is an all around player on both ends of the court and her leadership skills and attitude on the court give her true D1 potential.
2022, 6’2, SF, Ontario Christian, Shayla Gilmer Shayla Gilmer 6'2" | SF Ontario Christian | 2022 State CA – Athletic specimen of a player we watched this weekend, she has a body that most college girls do not possess and she is still developing into a player for the next level. I watched with a coach and her remarks were, we do not have a girl her size on our team now, I just laughed, she is built like a truck and is tough as nails on the floor as well. She can get to the rim and finish thru traffic, she can handle the ball and bring it up the floor for her team, she is capable of knocking down the three pointer, but needs some more work there.
