Sorvillo is a guard who does a little bit of everything for her team, especially around the perimeter. She can shoot well from behind the arc, or she can show off some nice handles with the ball to get to the basket. She knows when to pull up for a jumper, too. She does well on the defensive side of the ball knowing how to knock the ball away from her opponents or even step up to take a charge on fast breaks.

[player_tooltip player_id="382054" first="Tamia" last="Morris"] | Terry Sanford

Morris brings a balanced attack with her talents on the court. She is ready to catch and shoot when she is moving around without the ball. She certainly navigates the court well with the ball pushing it with speed and finding her open teammates to score points for her team. Her change of speed with the ball allows her to blow by opponents or even utilize screens at the perfect time to create space and put up her shot. She’s aggressive on defense picking the pocket of her opponents with ease.

[player_tooltip player_id="382056" first="Alanis" last="Diaz"] | Charlotte Catholic

Diaz moved to North Carolina and immediately became known in the girls basketball world. She does everything for her team from controlling the tempo to directing her teammates where to go to knocking down shots from deep to driving hard to the basket. She brings an excellent energy on the court knowing exactly how to make plays happen and get her teammates involved. She is always keeping her eyes up finding open teammates or the gaps on defense to slide into and score some points. The Saint Leo commit will no doubt make a great impact at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="382108" first="Taylor" last="Dunn"] | North Mecklenburg

The statement “defense turns to offense” is definitely true when watching Dunn play. She is aggressive on the defensive side of the ball knocking the ball away and grabbing steals that she can push up the court herself on solo fast breaks, or she finds a teammate immediately who is moving up the court. She fills in the role that her team needs her to be whether she is the main ball handler or sliding over to a shooting guard position, and her shot can certainly fall well from behind the arc. She also slides inside following shots to grab the rebound.

[player_tooltip player_id="382111" first="Mary" last="Holland Waters"] | Charlotte Country Day

Waters’ stock has certainly been rising over the past year averaging over 16 points a game because she can score from anywhere on the court. She knocks down shots from behind the three point line, and she uses her shooting to fake her opponents moving quickly around them for a midrange jumper or finish at the rim. She is shifty when handling the ball on fast breaks knowing how to move the defense to make it easier for her own path to the basket or her teammates’ on their way to two points. Her length at the position is crucial on defense as she uses her arms to cause deflections slowing down opponents’ offenses.

[player_tooltip player_id="382112" first="Laila" last="Anderson"] | Burlington School

Anderson (pictured above) has really stepped up as a leader for her high school team. As someone who plays with a “next play” mentality, she makes sure she is constantly looking for ways to contribute. She drains her shot from deep, and she can handle the ball playing floor general as her offense sets up the right play. She’s a tough defender, too, grabbing steals to push the other direction, and she doesn’t shy away from battling inside for some rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id="382106" first="Shayana" last="Portee"] | Concord Academy

Portee brings a sneakiness to her team because she slides behind opponents on backdoor cuts or slides into the openings to knock down a three point shot. She moves efficiently with the ball stopping at nothing to get to the hoop. She can also cause problems on defense anticipating moves and passes from her opponents to grab some steals.
