I think at this point we all know the big-time names in a 2023 class who has made a name for themselves and their recruitment since the eighth grade. But they’re always our players who are good and overlooked and that is under the radar. This list of girls can go on forever with all the hard work and determination it takes to achieve the goal of getting a scholarship. Here’s my opinion of girls trending up and college coaches should take a look at them.

Already has a college frame only a junior she averaging a double-double this season. She has stepped up this year against top competition as her high school added some tough games on the schedule. She definitely needs a strong summer showing this year and I think her stock will continue to rise!
Niyah Gaskins 5’9 SG Kings Fork HS

Niyah is on a 17-3 team competing for a state title. One thing she can do that is imperative to play at the next level she can shoot it! Arguably one of the best shooters in the 2023 class and she has played good competition throughout her AAU career. With her size she can also defend multiple positions it’s going to be an important spring/summer for her but she is a player that will turn some college coaches’ heads!

Sydney Turner 5’8 SF Cosby HS

Sydney has carried the momentum from AAU right to her high school season. A physical powerful wing that can get to the basket at ease is the teams leading scorer. With her height and ball-handling ability, I think she’s capable of switching full-time to being a combo guard which undoubtedly will boost her recruiting. With one more year of AAU and another high school year, she has time to show the coaches what she can do!

High IQ true combo guard that can be dropped into any college program at either position. Can beat you off the dribble she can stop and pull up for the jump and she’s a good three-point shooter! On defense, she has great anticipation skills and timing and is an elite shot-blocker from the guard position!

One of the youngest teams in the Richmond area. With a record of 19-2, Cierra has led the way averaging 14 points a game on a team that rely on a lot of freshman‘s. She has developed and transformed into a true combo guard. All year she has consistently hit the mid-range jumper and is a consistent and legitimate threat from the three-point line!
[player_tooltip player_id="383820" first="Elena" last="Bertrand"] 5’5 PG Highland
Has consistently all year round put up elite numbers! On the season she’s averaging 27 points a game which puts her number one in the state in a 23 good class! Elena this season scored 44 points in 22 minutes of play! She has really good ball-handling skills that allow her to create her shot. She can shoot off the dribble really well and can shoot it from three.

Has consistently worked on her game and progressively gotten better. Her high school team is now 16-1 and she’s the second leading score on the team at 12 points a game. Also deadly from three point range with a nice pull up jumper as well. Playoffs is coming up this week along with a big and last summer for her for AAU Sabrina looks to add to her offer sheet which includes Gardner Webb University.
