Continue ReadingTara Wills- The guard for trinity academy flies under the radar being one of the go-to players off the bench. Tara is a strong physical guard that is defensive-minded. Tara has a high IQ for the game on the offense and defensive side of the ball. From knowing where her teammates are at on the court, shooting the 3, taking care of the basketball, there isn’t much tara cant do. Defensively she takes on the challenges of guarding the other team’s best player, a great help-side defender, helps rebound, Wills contributes right away, and will be a key piece to making sure her team makes a late post-season run.
Rebecca Hajdukovich Rebecca Hajdukovich 5'9" | SF Douglass | 2023 State KS – The Gaurd for Douglass hasn’t been a secret this season with her level of play. The Washburn commit can flat out play, from being a mismatch problem for post players on the perimeter and bullying her way to the rim on small guards, she is a problem for her league. There is no secret that Rebecca can shoot the 3 or put it on the floor night in or night out. Rebecca has the ability to get make plays at a high level to get her teammates involved. With all the attention she will draw on the court, she has the ability to make the cross-court pass to her shooters or drop off passes to her teammates under the rim. With her do-it-all game, it will be something to watch for as she heads into march looking to finish strong.
Bri Hochstetler- Bri is one I like to call the silent assassin. Her aggressive play on both sides of the ball sets her apart from most girls. She has the size to guard bigger players, the range to stretch the defense out, and can put it on the floor to be another ball handler. She has experience playing in big games and stepping up to take the challenge when needed most, don’t be surprised if she starts to step up and take on the challenge of leading her Remington team. Look for her to make big-time plays to finish this season strong. She has a knack at getting to the free-throw line when it’s late-game or her team hasn’t scored which is often overlooked but helps Remington out a lot to catch a break, stop the clock and put points on the board.
Karoline Johnson Karoline Johnson 5'4" | CG Remington | 2024 State KS – She defines the term as a “true point guard” when she plays. The guard loves to play at her pace, gets to the paint, looks to use her floater around the rim, and gets out in transition with her teammate Bri Hochstetler. Karoline is a quick guard that is a pest defensively and causes problems for the other team on the offensive end. Karoline has no problem shooting the jumper from 3 but she is a perfect example that the mid range game is alive and well with how often she goes to the pull up jumper. Expect johnson to make plays for her team that you know will be game changers no matter if its the 1st quarter or 4th.
Aja Spencer- With her recent growth spurt and probably have another one coming with her size in her family, she has a great wingspan and is athletic enough to make plays for her team without any plays being called for her. She is a disrupter on the defensive end with her ability to block and contest shots at the rim. Her ability to guard the wing or post makes her nightmare on the defensive end. On the offensive end she can shoot the 3 and give her team the momentum they need but I feel she is at her best when she is slashing to the rim using her ability to go finish at the rim.
