But Frohnapfel proved that she can stand out and step into the limelight as well, as she had an outstanding game, dropping in a career-best 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Her impressive performance helped propel the No. 5 Cougars to a 53-39 victory over fourth-seeded Jefferson in the quarterfinals of the Morris County Tournament (MCT) on Saturday, in Rockaway.
Chatham increased its margin by 16 points, as it outscored the Falcons, 19-8, in the third period.
Cougar junior guard Riley Allen nailed three from beyond the arc in the third quarter and finished with a total of 12 points while sophomore Addison Barrett added 11 in the win.
Senior Ivana Tisma paced Jefferson (15-4) with 13 points, and 6-foot-3 junior Amanda Nwankwo scored nine.
Chatham (12-8) will square off versus top-seeded Morris Catholic (17-1) in the MCT semifinals on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
