D3 SW Regional Preview

It will be a challenging regionals at Springfield for Division 3, with Marion Pleasant, East Clinton, Waynesville and Purcell Marian compete for a trip to the final four.  Here is a look at a few players to watch this week. <span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>Division 3 @ Springfield High School</strong></span> <strong>Marion Pleasant vs East Clinton, Wednesday 6:00</strong> <strong>Shining bright- </strong>Libby Evanshine is a player who has quickly made her way onto the scene as one of the top players in the Southwest Ohio area, despite not much press. She is a 5-10 2023 with another year to improve and strengthen her game. She averages 16 points per game and nearly 8 rebounds, while being named the Player of the Year in her conference. She has a good perimeter game and can score from beyond the arc. She will be one to watch if East Clinton is to advance. <strong>Marion Pleasant</strong>-  Ava Steele is a 5-8 2025 who brings good defense to the table, and is a quick guard. She doesn’t play like a freshman, she shoots the ball well from the perimeter. She also sees the floor well and makes good decisions. Also Kyla is a 5-6 2022 who really played well in the districts, she did a great job getting to the rim and her defense was very solid. She has strong handles and is a quick solid defender. <strong>Purcell Marian vs Waynesville, Wednesday 8:00</strong> <strong>Dee-lightful- </strong>She is touted as the "best freshman in America"... and she very well could be. But one thing is for sure, Dee Alexander is clearly the best 2025 in Ohio. Alexander is such an explosive player and the 6-1 wing can score at the rim, or step out and let it fly from long range. She makes things happen for her team and this is just the start of what she can do the next three years. She is joined in the lineup with three other double figure scorers as [player_tooltip player_id="316711" first="Jayda" last="Mosley"] <em>(2024, pictured above),</em> Ky’Aira Miller (2025) and Trinity Small (2025) are all major contributors for the team. Cy’Aira Miller is another 2025 who is explosive and a key component to their success. <strong>Spartans look to defend- </strong>They don’t have the flash scorers like PM does, but their lineup does have some hard-working players who can defend. [player_tooltip player_id="269816" first="Isabella" last="Cassoni"] is a 5-8 2022 headed to Wright State, and is the mist proficient ball handler in the area, can distribute and get to the rim and score. She also can score from the perimeter. Watch for guard Caroline Stupp, an improving guard with good handles and can play good on-ball defense. Emme Greely is a good prospect with a high ceiling. &nbsp;
