There are some in game statistics that are considered a big deal in basketball. I would consider a double-double as one of those important stats. Hitting double figures in 2 different categories in a game is definitely an impressive accomplishment. There were some high school players in Michigan that hit that double-double mark in games on Monday night.
Reagan Blackwell (2022, PF, Royal Oak)
Her team was defeated in a tough 47-39 game against Farmington, but Blackwell still stood out last night as she earned a double-double. She finished the contest with 15 points 12 rebounds. Blackwell’s defense has always stood out, so it’s a nice sign for her team to see an outstanding offensive output.
[player_tooltip player_id="230784" first="Elyssa" last="Kincaid"] (2023, PF, Riverview)
Kincaid helped her team pick a win over New Boston Huron last night. In the game, she had her 6th straight double-double in league competition. Kincaid finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double. She also added 5 steals 2 assists. Her versatility and well rounded game have made double-doubles a regular thing for Kincaid this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="227594" first="Lydia" last="Meredith"] (2022, PG, St. Patrick’s)
Meredith’s team picked up a huge team win against Fowler. Meredith notched the double-double by absolutely going off offensively and scoring from all over the floor on her way to a 38 point game. She added 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Meredith has shown a lot of explosiveness on the offensive end and has a nose for chasing down a rebound off the perimeter.
[player_tooltip player_id="244278" first="Stacey" last="Utomi"] (2024, SF, Arbor Prep)
Utomi was terrific in an impressive win over Jonesville. She scored an incredibly efficient 16 points and snagged 16 rebounds to grab the double-double last night. Utomi plays under control and with such a high basketball IQ that double-doubles seem like just a matter of time.
[player_tooltip player_id="256570" first="Ryleigh" last="Zinn"] (2023, SF, Genesee)
Zinn was lights out last night. She notched the double-double by scoring 25 points and dominating the glass with 12 rebounds. Zinn also added 3 blocks to her totals. She has turned into a force on the wing offensively and teams are having a very hard time slowing her down. I’m pretty sure this won’t be Zinn’s last double-double this season.
