The East Tennessee State University commit is one of the most versatile and athletic guards in the 2022 class. She will get steals when the offense is least expecting it and she’s so good at reading the offense. Her ball handling skills are strong, her shot has pretty form, and she can get to the basket with ease. She uses the length in her arms to maneuver around the defense and finishes strong around the basket. Really strong rebounder as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="106151" first="Josie" last="Gilvin"] | Sacred Heart
Gilvin is one of the best defenders in the state by far, but she creates a ton of offense for her team as well. She’s a great passer and there are many times when she could score a bucket herself, but she’ll pass that up to get her teammates an even better shot. In every game I’ve gotten to watch this season, the Western Kentucky commit has had 6-10 assists. Defensively, she reads the offense so well and is constantly getting her hands on the ball.
[player_tooltip player_id="259216" first="Madelyn" last="Lawson"] | Dixie Heights
Lawson has a quick release on her shots and she catches ready to shoot. She makes some really strong moves to create separation from her defender, especially her step-back. Her outside shooting has been really impressive this season, currently shooting 42.6% from deep. I was extremely impressed by her defensive skills as well. She moves her feet well, not letting the offense drive around her, and is so smart as a shot blocker. She is constantly able to not only get the block, but then grabs the rebound from the block as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="157948" first="Lexie" last="Moore"] | Owen County
Moore can do it all. She could play any position on the floor on both offense and defense, and she would do it well. She has great strength and is not afraid of contact in the slightest. The Alderson Broaddus commit finishes strong with both hands, and can also stop & pop, elevating over defenders and knocking the shot down. She shoots near 40% from 3, so she really forces the defense to stretch out. As a defender, she reads the passing lanes so well and will lure the other team into making the pass seem open so that she can jump out and grab the steal.
[player_tooltip player_id="106160" first="Isabel" last="Grimes"] | Breckinridge County
The Montevallo commit is a natural scorer. She’s quick, and especially quick with the ball in her hands, so she can get around defenders and to the basket whenever she wants using all of the moves she’s mastered. She has a pretty outside shot as well. & While she is a great scorer, she is fantastic at drawing a double or triple team and then making a strong pass to the player that becomes open.
[player_tooltip player_id="157954" first="Rylee" last="Turner"] | Newport Central Catholic
Turner is a walking double-double. A top 2 scorer in the state and a top 10 rebounder. She can handle the ball, she can defend, she can pass - she can do it all. She has great length and she uses that length to get a ton of steals and blocks. She’ll also use it on the offensive end to stretch and finish layups. She is really good at recognizing the open player and making the pass to them. Turner puts herself in great rebounding positions and will go right around her defender to grab a rebound.
[player_tooltip player_id="106142" first="Timothi" last="Williams"] | Great Crossing
Williams is such a crafty player. She has some really nice finishes and is not afraid of contact. A strong passer, shooter, and driver. She has deep range on the outside and a very quick release on her shot. Whether she is already set or coming off the dribble, if you give her a split second, she can get her shot off and with the moves she makes, it's hard for defenders to stay in front. Williams is a consistent free throw shooter when she gets to the line as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="106159" first="Caylan" last="Mills"] | Knox Central
Mills is a super solid player all-around. She makes great drives and is always ready to kick it out to her teammates if help defense steps in front of her. On the outside and at mid-range, she catches ready to shoot and gets her shot off quickly. She’s got good strength and is the kind of player you would love to have as your teammate.
