<em>Maxpreps tracks the state’s statistical leaders based on what is inputted into the system by a coach or program director. With the regular season wrapping up and District and Regional playoffs starting up, we take a look at the statistical leaders blocks per game in Florida. </em>

<strong>Total Blocks</strong>: 171
<strong>Games Played</strong>: 24
Any list of top shot blockers, starts and ends with Hardison. She is the state’s number one shot blocker with 7.1 blocks per game. Her 7.1 blocks per game is close to 2 more blocks per game than the state’s # 2 shot blocker <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="349372" first="Fenishka" last="Bertho"] </strong>and her 171 blocks on the season is 70 more than the<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="91582" first="Nia" last="Brown"] </strong>who has 102 rebounds on the season which is good enough for the # 2 overall. Brown has recorded double digit blocks and impressive 7 times this season, including a season high 17 blocks vs North Port!

Bertho is having a breakout season for North Miami, averaging 5.3 blocks per game to go along with 19.1 points and 14.2 rebounds. She recorded a season high 10 blocks on January 17 to go along with 23 points and 25 rebounds, recording her first career triple double. Her shot blocking has been consistent all season, making her presence known in the paint, recording 7 or more blocks in 9 of her teams 15 games.
<strong>Zetta Vigil </strong>(Wolfson) – Class of 2022 – Forward/Center

<strong>Total Blocks</strong>: 63
<strong>Games Played</strong>: 13
Vigil is a 6’3 Senior for Wolfson and is averaging 4.8 blocks to go along with 12.2 rebounds and 4.8 points per game in 13 games. She had a season high 10 blocks on January 13 vs Englewood to go along with 16 rebounds and 10 points, recording a triple double en route to helping her team to a 36-33 victory.

Brown is a 6’2 Senior Captain for Orange Park, who is extremely versatile and can play and guard multiple positions. Using her length and athleticism, she has a consistent shot blocking presence averaging 4.3 blocks per game to go along with 13.2 points and 10.3 rebounds. Her 102 blocks in 24 games on the season are # 2 behind <strong>Zora Hardison</strong>.<strong> </strong>She had a season high 10 blocks vs Columbia, leading Orange Park to a 56-51 win on January 13.<strong> </strong>

Edwards is one of the state’s most athletic players and her presence on a list of top shot blockers further confirms that, where most players on this list are 6’0+ and are front court players. Edwards has had a number of impressive individual statistical performances, leading Rutherford to a 17-3 record. Her lone double digit block game led to a triple double vs South Walton where she recorded 10 blocks, 12 rebounds and 21 points in their 63-37 win.

Jackson is at the top of several statistical leaderboards this season, as she is having an exception Senior season for St. Augustine. Her 4.1 blocks are good enough for # 6 in Florida and she has impressively recorded two or more blocks in all 19 of her team’s games this season and four or more blocks in 12 of her teams 19 games. Without a doubt her best game of the season was a 10 block, 23 rebounds, and 21 points vs Mainland on December 21 en route to a 51-42 win.

<strong>Total Blocks</strong>: 71
<strong>Games Played</strong>: 18
Just a peek at Bridges stat line for the season, you can see how she impacts the game at several different levels. She is averaging 3.9 blocks, 2.7 steals, 2.5 assists, 8.3 rebounds, and 8.0 points per game for Windermere Prep. The 6’0 Sophomore wing is one of the state’s most well rounded offensive players and has exception shot blocking ability from the perimeter position. She has recorded at least one block in all 18 of Windermere Prep’s games and recorded 5 or more blocks in 8 games, including a season high 9 blocks vs Forest Lake Academy on November 18.
