Saige Grampsas Saige Grampsas 5'6" | PG Shawnee Mission Northwest | 2022 State KS , 5’7″, PG, Shawnee Mission Northwest, 2022 – While she got off to a slow start on day 2 Grampsas had a great game-long dual with McPherson’s Lauren Labertew Lauren Labertew 5'6" | CG McPherson | 2022 State KS . Grampsas did not let strong defense affect her decision making and also defended well, showing off her quick hands defensively. She had a strong game knocking down the three ball off the catch and off the pull-up from different spots on the floor.
Raegan Halliday Raegan Halliday 5'7" | PG Olathe South | 2022 State KS , 5’7″, PG, Olathe South, 2022 – In a tight contest with a fellow Sunflower League foe Halliday’s position command was again on display but what also drew attention was her defense and rebounding. A terrific boxing out effort by the team enabled Halliday to pull down a team high 9 rebounds. She also register 3 assists versus a single turnover.
Avery Larson Avery Larson 5'6" | CG Manhattan | 2023 State KS , 5’7″, SG, Manhattan, 2023 – While Larson showed speed with the ball and an ability to finish with either hand in transition, what I really enjoyed seeing was the poise she played with against constant ball pressure to make solid decisions.
Eva Peschel, 5’9″, PG, Marysville, 2022 – A fast, quick player with good hops Peschel was a key ingredient to the team taking a quality 6A team to overtime. She was able to get into the lane and athletically finish with either hand. She was a leader in gathering the team’s 15 offensive rebounds.
Ella Schmid, 5’5″, SG, McPherson, 2022 – Schmid consistently beat her defender off the bounce and took advantage of their lack of lateral quickness. She also set her feet well for perimeter shots and knocked down the three ball (2/3).
Camryn Smith Camryn Smith 5'8" | CG Shawnee Mission South | 2024 State KS , 5’9″, PG, Shawnee Mission South, 2024 – Smith continued to showed fluidity and a consistent workmanlike game but she also turned up the aggression when it was needed in a very tight game against a fellow Sunflower League team. That aggression included quick basket attacks that got her to the free throw line, where she shot 66%. She finished with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Elizabeth Tjaden Elizabeth Tjaden 5'9" | SG Clearwater | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, PG/SG, Clearwater, 2024 – Tjaden ran the floor well in the transition game and showed good vision and passing ability as well. She showed a diverse range of abilities and defended solidly but what really stands out is play is within the flow of the offense and will take what a defender gives her.
Destiny Yates Destiny Yates 5'5" | PG Manhattan | 2023 State KS , 5’4″, PG, Manhattan, 2023 – Yates showed some cool going 4/4 from the line in overtime. She used her quickness well in having a strong defensive game.
Carly Wimberly, 5’7″, PG, Wichita Northwest, 2024 – Wimberly is a developing scorer who showed an ability to finish in transition and off the offensive rebound.
