Monday’s MOP And Honorable Mentions

Monday was an exciting night in Michigan high school basketball. We’ve named a Most Outstanding Player (MOP) and Honorable Mentions for yesterday’s action. * This isn’t an all inclusive list, but comes from what I saw, was reported to me, etc. * Some of the players were covered in a previous article today so I’ll reference the article below for more about them and their performances. https://prepgirlshoops.com/2022/02/double-double-monday/ <h3>HONORABLE MENTIONS</h3> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="190707" first="Autumn" last="Bartlett"] (2022, PG, Farmington)</strong> Bartlett was the head of the snake in a victory against Royal Oak. She scored a game high 18 points and looked very comfortable as the go to option offensively. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244297" first="Jaidyn" last="Elam"] (2024, SG, Detroit Country Day)</strong> Elam continued her impressive play in a 64-24 win over Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes. She followed a near triple-double game against Southfield Christian with an offensive explosion last night. Elam finished with 26 points, shooting over 50% from the field. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="230784" first="Elyssa" last="Kincaid"] (2023, PF, Riverview)</strong> Kincaid had 20 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists last night. See the article above for more information. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="227594" first="Lydia" last="Meredith"] (2022, PG, St. Patrick’s)</strong> Meredith had 38 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. See the article above for more information. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244278" first="Stacey" last="Utomi"] (2024, SF, Arbor Prep)</strong> Utomi finished with 16 points 16 rebounds. See the article above for more information. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147771" first="Karianna" last="Woods"] (2022, CG, Arbor Prep)</strong> There aren’t many schools that can compare to Arbor Prep talent wise in the backcourt. Woods is a big piece of that puzzle. In last nights win over Jonesville, she racked up 19 points, had 9 steals, grabbed 4 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. <strong>Samantha Wynn (2024, SF, Michigan Center)</strong> Wynn was lights out in a 59-37 victory over Manchester. She scorched the nets for 8 three pointers and a total of 30 points. Her ability to shoot the triple isn’t a new thing, as she’s always had a pure stroke from behind the arc. Wynn is a plus defender as well. She’ll be a dangerous player for opponents come tournament time because if she gets hot, it’s a game changer. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="256570" first="Ryleigh" last="Zinn"] (2023, SF, Genesee)</strong> Zinn had 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks. See the article above for more information. <h3>MOP</h3> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189300" first="Shamya" last="Reid"] (2023, PG, Westfield Prep)</strong> Reid was big time in a huge 78-74 win over Holt on Monday night. In what was probably the game of the night, Reid dominated offensively dropping 25 points in the contest. She’s so slippery with the ball and is one of the toughest covers in the state. Reid has proven time and time again that she has to be mentioned with the best lead guards in Michigan. She always seems to show up on big stages and doing so leads to being named an MOP.
