Ten players make their DEBUT and I put that in CAPS because so many words continue to have different meanings other than Webster’s has like SPONSORED, DEVELOPMENT, and especially NEXT-LEVEL, okay that’s not in there but these players are making their introduction, some were omitted erroneously because I actually lost track of them but better late than never and remember, place yourself in a position to be seen, play with clubs that turn in rosters, non-erroneous and worry about IMPROVING your game, not a number listed by it
#20 Victoria Flores Victoria Flores 5'7" | SG Duncanville | 2023 State TX -5’7 SG (Duncanville)
Flores was listed as a #D1Lock in the 7th grade by me because she was poised, could handle the ball under pressure, and dropped shots from everywhere so all of that remains as she has helped lead Duncanville to another regional semifinal and a shot at going back to state, they won it the year before last
#22 Reagan Jackson Reagan Jackson 5'8" | CG Kennedale | 2023 State TX -5’8 SG (Kennedale)
Jackson is one of those players I got up to find out her name, nope, not on the roster so I had to make certain I had the right information because the information on the court was clear. She creates her shot under pressure, drops the mid to long-range with a hand in her face, and can score off the dribble, with either hand
#27 Bailey Featherstone Bailey Featherstone 5'9" | SF Round Rock | 2023 State TX -5’9 SF (Round Rock)
Featherstone is simply #THROWBACK in so many aspects, first, she entertained me at a tournament with her desire to go after the ball and outrebounding taller opponents yet the more I watched, I was just amazed how hard and powerful she attacked the rim and finished strongly yet she also elevates on her jumper, the midrange is consistent, so is her defense
#37 Calyn Davis Calyn Davis 6'0" | SG Lubbock Christian | 2023 State TX -6’0 SG (Lubbock Christian)
Davis falls into the “college coaches” who love big guards that can shoot, so do I but they give out scholarships, and just watching her come offa screen, show the stop and pop or just extend while being defended to drop the mid to long-range makes me smile yet my smile is even brighter as she can definitely show the “catch and shoot” under pressure, with accuracy
#38 Raimi McCrary Raimi McCrary 6'0" | PF Allen | 2023 State TX -6’1 PF (Allen)
Mccrary was impressive at the PGH 250 Expo, so impressive I said I had to add her because she adds so much on the court. She has good hands and footwork around the basket, she finishes with either hand and she can score off the dribble from the wing yet she also can face the basket and score and I heard she led her team in dropping the long ball, can’t wait to catch up again as she will move up more
#40 Kelly Mora Kelly Mora 6'1" | C Monterrey | 2023 State TX -6’1 C (Monterrey)
Mora came to Dallas with Calyn Davis Calyn Davis 6'0" | SG Lubbock Christian | 2023 State TX and Aaliyah Chavez Aaliyah Chavez 5'9" | PG Monterey | 2025 State TX , all three were named #D1Lock by yours truly yet they hadn’t even played a middle school game, I’m that good, so watching Mora use her body at that stage told me a lot, she was fluid with her offensive skills and rebounded strongly on both ends yet I caught her on LIVESTREAM and was overly impressed at how polished she has become, on both ends and she ain’t done
#42 Torie Sevier Torie Sevier 6'4" | PF Braswell | 2023 State TX -6’1 PF (Braswell)
Sevier is “long and athletic” remember that’s the base and the basis of which I choose in certain profiles but watching her play the passing lane was a definite treat yet it became sweeter seeing her block, alter and (or) deflect shots. She has nice moves around the basket, can also face the basket and score, did I mention she rebounds on both ends
#56 Kennedy Chappel Kennedy Chappel 5'8" | SG Dallas Christian | 2023 State TX – 5’8 SG (Dallas Christian)
Chappel should have also made it on here earlier, that’s on me yet if you give her too much room on the jumper, that’s on you as in the defender as she creates her shot so well under pressure and when you add the deceptive first step that enables her to score off the dribble, you can’t take chances because that mid to long-range is effective
#69 Janiah Perkins Janiah Perkins 5'3" | PG Highlands | 2023 State TX -5’3 PG (Highlands)
Perkins club team is rarely in front of me so I was happy to catch her at an Individual Showcase and see her SHOWCASE her skills. She’s explosive off the dribble, with the ball and her court vision as well as crisp passes definitely grabbed my attention yet so did her body control while attacking the basket, and yes, mid to long-range is solid
#70 Jaida McDonald Jaida McDonald 6'1" | PF Skyline | 2023 State TX -6’1 PF (Skyline)
McDonald just amazes me at times, her athleticism brings so much to the table on both ends, yeah she’s long and athletic, but watching her elevate for rebounds as well as pints in the paint keep me smiling, so does her defying gravity off the dribble to finish but the pressure she applies on defense needs to be mentioned as well
