As the season winds closer to the playoffs, there is a lot happening in Michigan high school basketball. Here are some of the recent news and notes.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189293" first="Faith" last="Carson"] (2023, C, Buchanan) </strong>is one of the top centers in the country and PGH Michigan’s number 1 ranked 2023 prospect in the state. She has committed to Ohio State.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147753" first="Lauren" last="DeWolf"] (2022, CG, Ann Arbor Pioneer) </strong>is known around the state as a defensive stalwart, but her game is much more than that. This was shown as she scored her 1000 career point this week.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147728" first="Alaina" last="Diaz"] (2022, CG, Hudsonville) </strong>has committed to Purdue University - Fort Wayne. The speedy guard brings enough athleticism and versatility to play right away.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147731" first="Myonna" last="Hooper"] (2022, PG, West Bloomfield) </strong>is an elite floor general that can really control the pace and feel of the game. She has committed to Detroit Mercy.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147759" first="Ashley" last="Loon"] (2022, SG, Berkley) </strong>is a lights out senior shooter and most definitely an underrated star. She became the first Berkley player to ever score 1000 points.
<strong>Morgan Miller (2022, SG, Plymouth) </strong>shot the lights out from three point land this week. She buried 9 triples in 1 game, breaking her school’s all time mark.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="277640" first="Batoul" last="Reda"] (2022, SG, Fordson) </strong>has been a bona fide bucket getter this season and one of the more explosive scorers in the state. She broke the Fordson single season scoring record. Reda currently sits at 530 points on the season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="227317" first="Maddie" last="Schuur"] (2022, SG, Zeeland East) </strong>has been on a tear since spring on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. Her excellent play has continued all high school season, as evidenced by the fact that she made her 50th three pointer of the season this week.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="253603" first="Sharon" last="Smith"] (2022, PG, Saginaw) </strong>is a super quick and explosive guard. She scored her 1000th point this week.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="227588" first="Kylie" last="Summer"] (2022, SG, Lenawee Christian) </strong>has rightfully developed a reputation as a sniper from behind the arc. She recently set the school record for three pointers in a single game with 10.
<strong>Taylor Titus (2022, SF, Holt) </strong>has been key to Holt’s success. She’s committed to playing at Lansing Community College next season.
