There are some players that are really catching our eye with their solid play this season here at Prep Girls Hoops Michigan. They may be at all different levels, but these players are turning heads and making people see their game.
[player_tooltip player_id="244259" first="Riley" last="Abney"] (2024, CG, Brandon)
Abney is just a sophomore, but she has put up some simply staggering numbers this year. She’s a great talent and a terrific leader as an underclassman.
[player_tooltip player_id="336005" first="Jordyn" last="Bonnema"] (2025, PG, Kalamazoo Christian)
Bonnema has shown us all that she will be an exciting player to watch over the next few years. She’s a tough shooter that can also score athletically. Bonnema has a basketball IQ and feel for the game that’s way beyond her years.
[player_tooltip player_id="361798" first="Savannah" last="Fellenbaum"] (2024, SF, Lake Fenton)
Fellenbaum has turned heads all season. She has a ton of upside as a mismatch at the wing. Fellenbaum is getting it done on both ends of the floor, protecting the rim and racking up some steals.
Isis Johnson (2025, SF, Westfield Prep)
Johnson is simply one of the elite freshman in the state, and most likely beyond that. She’s a perfect fit on Westfield Prep with her unselfish player and heart and desire on the defensive end.
Keiyera Johnson (2023, PG, Jackson)
Johnson may not even know it, but keep up the hard work because people are noticing. She’s a speedy guard that can make plays with her quickness. Johnson is a player to watch this season and into the spring with Michigan Premier.
[player_tooltip player_id="186364" first="Alexandra" last="Kolnitys"] (2022, PG, Midland Dow)
Kolnitys is having a memorable senior season. So much so that she might just be playing herself into a finalist spot for Miss Basketball. Her leadership and playmaking at the lead guard spot is spectacular to watch.
Macey Laubach (2022, PF, Edwardsburg)
Laubach has been in 3 top performers type articles this season. When she’s not in them, trust me, she’s still playing well. She’s a consistent scorer and can attack the glass at a high level as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="189282" first="Terin" last="Maynard"] (2023, PG, Jenison)
A year ago, I had trouble figuring out where I thought she belonged among the talented guards in the state. This season, she’s certainly showing me that it’s among the top 15-20 guards in her class. Maynard is scoring at a prolific rate, but it’s her defense and ball pressure that has impressed me the most.
Sammi Schultz (2022, SG, Williamston)
Schultz’s name just keeps popping up in my notes. She’s an ever improving shooter and scorer that keeps influencing games. Schultz really battles on both ends of the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="335988" first="Angelina" last="Tringali"] (2023, SG, Oakland Christian)
Tringali shouldn’t be an ’under the radar’ talent, because she’s getting the job done this season. She’s helped her team to a solid 10-3 season so far and has proved that her outside shooting can flat out win games.
[player_tooltip player_id="260503" first="Megan" last="Zeitz"] (2024, CG, Dansville)
Zeitz has put her name squarely on the map. She’s been a consistent scorer and has shot very well from behind the arc. Zeitz is efficient, not having to be shot heavy to put up impressive numbers.
