Below we have seen some good basketball from many teams throughout the Girls Basketball Tournament below we took a look at some teams with some standout performers to where their team advanced to the next round. Glenoak had to make a rally to come back and keep their hopes alive against a scrappy New Philadelphia team to advance to the district championship, as they pulled out the stops and were able to keep scoring, and getting good blocks from the guards and from Weir in the paint. They pushed the ball every chance they got attacking the rim scoring inside/out to get the win Led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id="92527" first="Kiley" last="Dyrlund"] 18 Pts 5 Reb 7Stl & senior guard [player_tooltip player_id="157679" first="Breezie" last="Williams"] 13 Pts 6Stl 4Ast Marlington came out and played good basketball, moved the ball well, played tight defense, and was able to score on the fast-breaks to keep their season going, the sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="280101" first="Chelsea" last="Evanich"] played great 29pts 10reb she was stunning. She can play inside/out and hard to defend, they will need more of her play if they want to continue on the tournament. Jackson was pure dominant against Howland they imposed themselves from tip-off and did not look back as a team hit 9 three-pointers with Sophomore guard Campbell and Senior SF [player_tooltip player_id="92514" first="Emma" last="Dretke"] with 3 apiece. They pretty much showed how versatile they are scoring in the paint, mid-range shots, and the three-ball. They apply pressure to force turnovers and to score quickly they are looking to keep it going against Glenoak who they split the regular season 1-1. They were led by [player_tooltip player_id="92514" first="Emma" last="Dretke"] 17 Pts, [player_tooltip player_id="93552" first="Leena" last="Patibandla"] & Megan Campbell all with 13 Pts. Stvm came out the gates quickly scoring at will there wasn’t anything Oberlin could do to with stand the scoring drive St.v gave them. They applied the pressure an caused a lot of turnovers that turned into transition points, freshman Kendal Batchik led that charge with 16pts 6stl 5assits, and Jazmin Torres with 12pts. They will be ready for the challenge they will face in District Finals.. Northwest did what they was suppose to do knock off everyone that came in their path an their next one wont be as easy, but with one of the soon to be top recruits in [player_tooltip player_id="360800" first="Lily" last="Bottomley"] who had 27pts 11reb the task at hand they should be able to conquer. She was able to score inside and on the outside she is one player that is hard to stop, guards will play a big role when they meet up with Stvm. They are goin to take in every second to get the job done they been here before and looking to continue. Norton had to lock down on defense to be able to come out with the win the senior leaders took in the leadership role took control in the paint scoring and rebounding, when you turn on the pressure and force turnovers you know the win is coming, senior play from Gabby Destefano owned the paint with 11 pts 11reb she was looking to keep their season going that’s what she did. Gilmour Academy came into the game with one thing in mind to get their win on their coaches birthday an that is what they did. They played hard from start to finish and was not going to let that stop them. Senior players stepped up in a big fashion with Copper Flowers 11pts 12reb game looking real solid in the paint and then Madeline Martino with 17 pts scoring on the outside and getting in the paint scoring which led them to victory and a shot to make it to regionals.
