Congrats to the teams who have advanced so far and we’re excited for the final matchup that will be coming this weekend. Here are more standouts from the Sweet Sixteen games.
Savannah Crowding (Sr.) – F/G, Kingsway
Crowding was one of three Kingsway players that posted a double-double in their Sweet Sixteen victory, all of which we’ve included in our standouts articles. There’s a reason for it, especially Crowding, who’s turning into one of the best forwards in the region. She’s incredibly confident in the middle, with the ball in her hands. She’s finding more ways than ever to score and to gain a bigger presence in the middle. Her rebounding has greatly improved as she’s an absolute monster on the boards, and her defense is the best it’s ever been.
Maggie Campbell (Sr.) – PG, Haddon Heights
Campbell is a senior leader on this Haddon Heights team that’s now 15-1 through February 4. She’s arguably having her best season to date and is one of the best three-point shooters in the region. She’s handled the pressure of perimeter shooting well and is best under pressure. There’s a possibility this guard could reach 100 career three-pointers by season’s end, and with a smooth shoot and quick release, that number is well within reach.
McKenzie Racobaldo (Sr.) – 5-9 F/G, Kingsway
Racobaldo has been one of Kingsway’s most consistent scorers over the past three seasons, but it’s looking like her senior year is the year where everything is coming together. Nearly averaging a career-high in scoring, she’s been a great go-to option for this team. She’s a spot-up shooter and plays best off-ball. It’s allowed her to find her sweet spots on the court to shoot from. Those little things that she’s picked up have made a major difference in her game as she’s becoming a more mature player overall.
Allie Serlenga Allie Serlenga SF Bishop Eustace | 2024 NJ (So.) – SF, Bishop Eustace
Where Serlenga was a great player last season, she’s reached and exceeded that this season. She has much more of a starter-type role for the Crusaders and with extra playing time comes more production. We’ve seen that additional production from a player who is carving up defenses on the interior with a bit of outside shooting as well. The outside shooting has come slowly but surely and Serlenga definitely has that shooting touch in her like her sister, Carly. The defense will come in time as well and she’s making good strides this season without a doubt.
Ava Sztenderowicz (Fr.) – SG, Cinnaminson
The sister of Cinnaminson’s star player, Brook Sztenderowicz, Ava has been a great shooter so far this season and is going to make her living between the perimeter and the foul line. She’s great at getting into the lane and drawing contact on a shot. However, she can switch things up on a dime and get beyond the arc, where she’s knocking down nearly one three-pointer a game this season. Sztenderowicz shoots it well and has an effortless shooting motion which lends itself greatly to higher-percentage shots.
Shelby Dyer (Jr.) – G/F, Kingsway
Dyer had a career game in Kingsway’s Sweet Sixteen victory over Bishop Eustace, an upset win at the time though both teams were quite evenly matched. She’s shown herself to be a big-time scorer in the clutch. Even as someone who doesn’t have the most experience in high school, she’s shown herself to be quite the important piece on this Dragons team moving forward. The more she can continue to find her footing as she’s done this year, finding those scoring lanes and positioning herself well on the boards, she’s in a great spot for the future.
