I already dropped 6’0 Kayla McGarity (Central Texas Saints) and you can read that right here so let me add a few more from the top division
2022
Carol Birge-5’10 F (Lake Houston Homeschool)
Birge name was misread as binge and I tweeted I had been on a BINGE watch all day because she’s long and athletic and can score either by elevating over defenders for the jumper,, she drops the mid to long-range, yet she also scored off the dribble. She handles the ball in the open court and rebounds on both ends
Haydyn Collier-6’0 C (San Marcos Homeschool)
Collier did a good job scoring around the basket as well as rebounding on both ends but watching her score from the wing was a nice touch, so was her facing the basket to score not to leave out her interior defense as well as stepping outside the paint to defend
Leah Katt-5’9 PF (Aggieland Homeschool)
Katt was physical around the basket, on both ends and showed she understood how to use her body to score and finish after contact yet her defense was somewhat smothering on the interior, and she rebounded on both ends of the court and ran the floor
Mackenzie Nelson-6’0 C (San Marcos Homeschool)
Nelson made a formidable Twin Tower combination for her team as she definitely was serviceable and showed she could get hers in the flow but I also enjoyed her defending strongly as well as going after the ball off the boards for rebounds
2024
Pearson McVay-6’1 PF (Aggieland Homeschool)
McVay definitely has added to her game since I caught her as a freshman but not only has she put on mass, she’s strong and 76er control with very good upside so factor in she’s long and athletic, I didn’t mention thIs earlier but that is the base I go by to evaluate but more importantly, so do many college coaches. She’s finishing stronger, including after contact , she’s rebounding better and showing the outlet plus she’s running the floor yet 2 very important things are pulling me, she is attacking from the wing and showing body control after the lick and she’s playing the passing lane and handling the ball in the open court afterwards
