I’ll also drop something on the JV Division and anything I drop is based on roster information and speaking of that, another SPECIAL S/O to Salt and Light Homeschool head coach Amy Curtis for not only letting me know about this event but also printing available rosters from Max Preps so for that, I’m also dropping something special on her squad because one more time, talent is everywhere and apparently so am I

Trinity Hubbard-5’2 PG (San Marcos Homeschool)
Hubbard showed off the top she could drop the long ball and watching her create her shot to get it off against taller defenders, with a hand in her face had me beaming yet her release is quick, which also comes in handy. Another thing that helps is she understands how to mix it up. she handles the ball well under pressure and showed a nice first step which enabled her to get to the basket and finish. She also showed the stop and pop in transition
Parker McVay-5’6 G (Aggieland Homeschool)
McVay attacked the rim strongly, with either hand, and finished the same way, strongly with either hand yet she also did a good job handling the ball under pressure in the open court and saw the floor
Abigail Nelson-G (Lake Houston)
Nelson was one of many guards that stood out yet erroneous rosters don’t help me yet on the court, she definitely showed the defender needed help at times because she understands how to get to her spot by creating her shot and dropping the long ball. She also saw the floor well, under pressure while handling the ball in the open court, under pressure as well

Madison Hurta Madison Hurta 5'8" | PG San Marcos Homeschool | 2024 State TX -5’6 SG (San Marcos Homeschool)
Hurta is just one of those players that I love watching shoot because her jumper is picture-perfect but more importantly it’s accurate. She understands how to set the defender up with a number of nice moves she shoots the ball off the pick, she shoots it off the dribble yet she also can “catch and shoot” while being defended yet her fearlessness attacking the rim and finishing after contact was something new for me to see, shows progression and that long-range jumper is dropping from deeper, hey the midrange is sweet as well

Jacie Rollo-5’5 G (Aggieland Homeschool)
Rollo showed a lot of potential, first of all, she’s a freshman and she understands something very important, ” she plays within herself” as well as “she understands how to score in the flow”. She did a good job on the defensive end, on the ball, but she also did something I love seeing, she plays the passing lane
