Metuchen – 11-9
Metuchen advanced past the play-in round of the Greater Middlesex Conference tournament last weekend, capping off a 3-0 week where the Bulldogs allowed just 19.7 PPG to their opponents while scoring 54.7 PPG. Senior guard Molly Malague has been the difference-maker so far and had a great week, averaging 16.0 PPG in two games. Junior forward Aurelie Germain also impressed, with a 12-point game against Perth Amboy Tech, averaging 9.0 PPG and 6.3 RPG over the week.
Hillsborough – 12-7
Hillsborough is in the midst of a five-game winning streak, including a win this Tuesday, but last week was the catalyst for this recent run of form, going 3-0, including an impressive 22-point win over Rancocas Valley. Amy Rachilla and Francesca Schiro have been fantastic as of late for Hillsborough, with Rachilla averaging 19.0 PPG and Schiro averaging 13.7 PPG. The two have been incredibly impressive to watch and look like superstars on a team that’s quickly making waves in the Skyland Conference.
Westfield – 18-4
Westfield had itself quite the week, bouncing back from a loss the week before to go 4-0 on the week, winning three of the four by 13 or more points. With three players currently averaging in double figures in scoring and one, senior forward Grace Klag, averaging a double-double along with 1.6 BPG, the Blue Devils don’t look like they’re going to be stopped anytime soon.
Colonia – 20-2
Colonia extended its current winning streak to 12 games after a 3-0 week, winning all three games by an average margin of 34.0 PPG. The duo of Mattison Chiera Mattison Chiera 5'10" | CG Colonia | 2023 State NJ and Taylor Derkack Taylor Derkack 6'0" | SF Colonia | 2024 State NJ has been one of the best in the entire state as both had great weeks on the floor. They’re the backbone of a team that’s lost just two games and is perfect in divisional play. Colonia is still the class of the Greater Middlesex Conference until a shakeup happens.
