With over 80 participants from 50 different schools, there was plenty of talent for the 12 collegiate programs in attendance to witness.
Here is a list of Freshman Players who impressed:
Brynn Hargrove, Hobbs HS, Hobbs, 5’5” Guard
Hargrove is talented player at the Guard position that can handle the ball well, get to the basket and is confident in her jump shot. The freshman displayed her ability to score with the best of them at the BTH Showcase as she averaged 13.6 ppg, 6th highest at the event.
Aleena Rodriguez, Eunice HS, Eunice, 5’7” Guard/Forward
Rodriguez is a knockdown shooter that should not be left open. The Freshman’s shot selection is very good as works within the flow of the offense never setting for bad looks. Rodriguez averaged 11 ppg and made 8 3s at the BTH Showcase.
Mila Espinoza Mila Espinoza 5'4" | CG Volcano Vista | 2025 State NM , Volcano Vista HS, Albuquerque, 5’5” Guard
Espinoza is a capable scorer that can hit the 3 ball and finish in the lane while also doing a solid job of running point. Espinoza averaged just north of 8 ppg at the Showcase.
Jessica Roberts, Organ Mountain HS, Las Cruces, 5’5” Guard
Roberts is a guard that can score in the lane after getting by the initial defender; Roberts does a nice job of attacking the lane and hitting floaters over defenders. Roberts averaged just under 7 ppg at the Showcase.
Gerlynn Romero, Los Alamos HS, Los Alamos, 5’8” Guard/Forward
Romero is a versatile Guard with good handles and good footwork that allows her to find her spots on the offensive end; Romero showed the ability to put the ball in the basket as she averaged 9 ppg at the Showcase.
Honorable Mentions:
Emma Balsiger, Franklin HS, El Paso, 5’8” Guard/Forward
Balsiger is solid all round player that can do a variety of things on the court. Balsiger can attack the basket, finish layups while also making Free-throws and getting rebounds.
Teeya Gordon, Alamogordo HS, Alamogordo, 5’11” Forward
Gordon has good size and battled in the paint area against opposing bigs by being able to rebound and finish shots.
