Here are some notable frontcourt players from the Showcase:
Ema Rose Ema Rose 5'11" | PF Gadsden | 2023 State NM , Gadsden HS, Anthony, 5’11” 2023
Rose is an excellent scorer inside the paint area who uses her size to get easy looks by sealing her defender with good positioning. Rose had good hands and is aware of possible incoming pocket passes from fellow teammates. The Junior is also a good rebounder that gets both offensive and defensive misses. Rose averaged 14.2ppg at the BTH Showcase.
Julia Espinosa, Rio Rancho HS, Rio Rancho, 6’1” 2023
Espinosa is a force inside the paint area that can overpower shorter defenders. The Junior does a good job of finishing shots in the paint and can grab multiple offensive rebounds on the weak side. Espinosa averaged 13.2ppg at the BTH Showcase.
Brycelyn Martinez, Escalante HS, Tierra Amarilla, 5’7” 2023
Martinez is a strong player that flashed great footwork in the post using a smooth up-and-under that left her defender lost. The Junior does a good job of competing on the boards and can grab multiple rebounds.
(Martinez looked to be playing the forward position because of her teams height disadvantage at the Showcase in certain matchups)
Alianna Colon, Andress HS, El Paso, 6’1” 2022
Colon is an athletic forward that runs the floor well and can get to the basket off the dribble. The Senior is also capable of extending out to the 3pt line and knocking them down as well. Colon made 7 3s at the Showcase scrimmages and averaged 8.6ppg.
