Brianna Byars Brianna Byars 5'11" | PF George Rogers Clark | 2023 State KY – 5’11″ – George Rogers Clark
Byars is averaging 15.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, on 46.9% field goal shooting. I have had bad luck trying to see her play this year, once snow made traveling a bad idea, and the next time I got sick for 5 days straight but I did see her at a Holiday tournament where she impressed.
She has the ability to play either forward position at this or the next level with the rebounding, scoring and ballhandling skills.
Meadow Tisdale Meadow Tisdale 5'10" | PF Bowling Green | 2023 State KY – 5’10″ – Bowling Green
I was just watching Tisdale play last night in the 4th Region semifinals. She takes the losses personally and you can see it in the way she plays defense and goes after loose balls.
Her effort and desire to win show up in her great motor that she uses to power a scoring machine with versatile abilities. She is putting up 15.6 points per game to go with 7.5 rebounds on 58.7% shooting. She even has the ability to step out to shoot the three at 31.2% but rarely does (5 for 16).
Whitney Lind Whitney Lind 6'1" | PF Cooper | 2023 State KY – 6’1″ – Cooper
Last night Lind and her teammates punched their tickets to the Sweet 16 and a week before that I was watching them play during their district tournament. More than any other word I would have to describe her as “smooth”. The way she moves across the floor with our without the ball.
She scores in multiple ways including shooting the three at 35.8%, driving it to the hole, or making strong cuts to the basket. She is averaging 17.1 points, 6.6 rebounds on 46.9% field goal shooting.
Emma Barnett Emma Barnett 6'2" | PF Mercy | 2023 State KY – 6’2″ – Mercy
As a Stretch 4, Barnett, doesn’t really fit any of our categories perfectly. But if we had one for Stretch players she would likely be the #1 player in that category. She is shooting 34.6% from three-point range for the season for 11,2 points, and 6.1 rebounds.
JaLa Douglas – 6’0″ – Central
Douglas is playing in a loaded frontcourt this season of players that fight for rebounds and run the floor for points. With a few losses to graduation, I look forward to seeing her role increase next season.
She is averaging 9.1 points, 6.5 rebounds on 48.6% shooting.
Raegan Barrett Raegan Barrett 5'11" | PF Great Crossing | 2023 State KY – 5’11″ – Great Crossing
Barrett has good instincts on finding space in the lane to receive the pass and the body control to score through contact with layups and short jumpers. On the season she is averaging 7.3 points, and 6.2 rebounds while making 41.3% of her field goals and shooting 84.3% at the foul line,
Gracie Ferguson Gracie Ferguson 5'11" | PF Owen County | 2023 State KY – 5’11″ – Owen County
Ferguson has had a great season while facing many of the best 4s and 5s the Commonwealth has to offer and maintaining one of the top field goal percentages in the state 57.4% field goals (KHSAA rank 21st) and averaging 13.8 points and 5.3 rebounds for the All “A” Classic Champions.
She contributes in every way a big should despite being undersized at times. She is a sturdy in-zone rebounder with a complete package of posts moves, cuts to get open and the ability to put the ball on the floor in traffic to find the seams needed to get the ball to the hoop.
