2023 Rankings Update: Biggest Risers

With the regional tournaments going on now and the Sweet 16 next week, the class of 2023 is about to close the book on their Junior seasons and get ready for their last year of AAU. With our latest rankings update for 2023, we had a lot of movement throughout the class and are up to 110 ranked players in the Junior class. Here’s a look at some of the biggest movers with this update. [player_tooltip player_id="255504" first="Noelle" last="Hubert"], Notre Dame (75-->13) - The biggest riser of all went from barely on the list to the top shooting guard in the class with this update. Noelle has established herself as one of the best players in the highly competitive 9th region and one of the best shooters in the entire state, regardless of class. [player_tooltip player_id="164417" first="Samari" last="Taylor"], Ballard (54-->32) - Samari made a big move up the list with a strong season for the Lady Bruins where she established herself as one of the top post players in the class. Taylor is an effective scorer off the low block who can get a bucket over either shoulder and has continued to improve as a rebounder over her career. [player_tooltip player_id="199615" first="Mary" last="Smith"], Mercy (72-->40) - When discussing the 2023 class, our staff was in agreement that Mary has made a big case to move way up the rankings this season. Smith has done a little bit of everything for a Mercy team that was expected to be more of a rebuilder than a contender but thanks to Mary and others stepping up, the Jags are in contention to get back to state. [player_tooltip player_id="329426" first="Camryn" last="Poole"], Whitefield Academy (86-->54) - Whitefield continues to have one of the most impressive groups of young players in Louisville and Poole is a cornerstone of their program. Camryn led them in scoring but her game is more than just putting the ball in the basket. She's a two way guard who can impact the game on both ends. [player_tooltip player_id="260270" first="Gracie" last="Ferguson"], Owen County (79-->59) - Owen County has had a fantastic season, including an All A state title and they're doing it with really no bench to speak of. Gracie is a threat to get a double double every night and is a reliable scorer around the bucket as she's one of the leading players in Kentucky in field goal percentage.
