Leilani Love Leilani Love 6'1" | C Albuquerque | 2023 State NM – 6’1 Forward/Center “Albuquerque” Class of 2023 (#1PGHNM)
Leilani Love Leilani Love 6'1" | C Albuquerque | 2023 State NM had a spectacular season for the Albuquerque High Bulldogs this year. She was one of the top players in the state and was arguably the top Forward/Center this season. Leilani was the 6th leading scorer in the state and was the states leading rebounder this year. She averaged a double-double scoring 19.4 points per game and grabbing 12.4 rebounds per game. Leilani had ten 20-point games this season and led the state with eighteen double-doubles. Leilani was one of the top shot blockers in the state averaging 2.7 blocks per game which finished inside the top 5 this season. Her play led Albuquerque to a 20-7 record this year and a spot in the 5A State Tournament.
Ema Rose Ema Rose 5'11" | PF Gadsden | 2023 State NM – 5’5 Small Forward “Gadsden” Class of 2023 (#6PGHNM)
Ema Rose Ema Rose 5'11" | PF Gadsden | 2023 State NM had a solid season for Gadsden this year. Gadsden went 16-10 this season while Ema averaged 15.0 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game. She was the 16th leading scorer in New Mexico and the 6th leading rebounder. This year, Ema had eight 20-point games and twelve double-doubles. This year she had three games of grabbing 17 rebounds and scored a season high of 27 points. Ema was the best shot blocker in the state this year averaging 3.9 blocks per game.
Aneesa Chavez Aneesa Chavez SG Moriarty | 2023 State NM – 5’5 Shooting Guard “Moriarty” Class of 2023 (#7PGHNM)
Aneesa Chavez Aneesa Chavez SG Moriarty | 2023 State NM played a huge role in Moriarty’s success this season. She was the teams leading scorer averaging 14.3 points per game and was the 16th leading scorer in New Mexico this season. She led Moriarty to a 19-7 record this year and they made it to the 4A Quarterfinals as the 11th seed. Aneesa had four 20-point games this season and a season high of 28 points vs Pojoaque Valley back in January. Aneesa was a pest on the defensive end of the floor averaging 4.2 steals per game which was the 6th most in New Mexico this season.
Emma Christiano Emma Christiano 5'4" | PG Las Cruces | 2023 State NM – 5’5 Point Guard “Las Cruces” Class of 2023 (#8PGHNM)
Las Cruces Point Guard Emma Christiano Emma Christiano 5'4" | PG Las Cruces | 2023 State NM was one of the most all around players in New Mexico this season. She impacted the game in various ways at a very high level. Emma averaged 14.3 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, 4.9 assists per game and 3.8 steals per game. She was a top 20 scorer this season, 4th in assists and tied for 10th in steals this year. Her play helped Las Cruces finish 22-8 this season and reach the 5A State Quarterfinals. Emma Christiano Emma Christiano 5'4" | PG Las Cruces | 2023 State NM is a player we all need to keep our eyes on.
Evann Segura Evann Segura 5'10" | PF Moriarty | 2023 State NM – 5’10 Power Forward “Moriarty” Class of 2023 (#12PGHNM)
Evann Segura Evann Segura 5'10" | PF Moriarty | 2023 State NM was one of the most consistent players in the 2023 Class this season. She was Moriarty’s second leading scorer this season averaging 13.4 points per game. Evann averaged 8.5 rebounds per game which was the 10th most in New Mexico this season. Evann had five 20-point games this season along with ten double-doubles this year. Her consistent play helped Moriarty finish 19-7 this season and reach the 4A State Quarterfinals.
