The First Round is Friday March 4th, the Quarterfinals are Tuesday March 8th, the Semifinals are Friday March 11th and the Championship games are Saturday March 12th.
#1 Escalante vs #16 Questa
Escalante secure the #1 overall seed in this years tournament after a dominant regular season going 20-4 and winning their district title with a a solid 9-1 record. They were led by their seniors Kalesa Torrez, Hekaila Martinez and Alic Martinez. They are the favorite to win this years state tournament. Questa is this year #16 seed and they cliched a spot in this years state tournament with their 12-12 record overall and their 5-5 record in district play. They are led by their seniors McKayla Martinez, Angelica Lovato, Araceli Gonzales, Leah Martinez and Annaliese Rivera.
#8 Menaul vs #9 Tatum
Menaul went 17-5 this season and locked up the 8th seed. They went undefeated at 10-0 in district play to win their district title. This team was led by Sofia Ciantra, Valentina Caruso and Giulia Sbrenna. Tatum finished 13-9 this season and came in second place in their respective district. This team was surrounded by their senior Kheyenne Coombes. They played in a tough district and will be a tough matchup for Menaul.
#5 Rehoboth Christian vs #12 Mescalero Apache
Rehoboth Christian finished the regular season with an 18-8 record and came in second in their respective district. This team is led by senior Kari Kallestewa who is averaging 16.6 points per game this season. Mescalero Apache went 20-7 this season and finished with a 5-3 record in district play to place second in their district. This team was led by their three seniors Tyler Hiles, Bianca Artiaga and Pearl Pike.
#4 Penasco vs #13 Capitan
Penasco is one of the favorites to win this state tournament this year. They finished the regular season with an 18-9 record in the toughest district in the 2A Class. They finished 8-2 in district play and came in second overall in the district. They were rewarded the 4th overall seed in this tournament. They were led by their leading scorer Analise MacAuley Analise MacAuley PF Penasco | 2024 State NM who averaged 13.9 points per game, Martina Tafoya averaged 12.9 points per game and Rochelle Lopez averaged 10.3 points per game this season. Capitan fished with an impressive 17-8 record this season but finished with the 13th overall seed because they finished 2nd in district play. This is a young team and were led by there senior Leah Elsey.
#3 Eunice vs #14 Pecos
Eunice had a great regular season, they finished 18-5 and were the district champions with an undefeated record at 8-0. This team was led by their seniors Ashley Castillo, Isabella Garrett and Denise Rangel. Eunice will be one of the toughest matchups for any team to face in this tournament. Pecos finished the regular season with a 13-14 record and secured the #14 seed. This team was led by freshman Natalia Stout who averaged over 12 points per game this season.
#6 Laguna Acoma vs #11 Lordsburg
Laguna Acoma secured the 6th seed in this years state tournament. They finished 16-9 this season and won their district title with a 4-2 record in district play. This is a young team that was led by their senior Aaliyah Hershey. This team has six freshman on the roster, this team will make some noise this year and the next few years. Lordsburg went 13-10 this season and won their district title posting a 6-2 record in district play. They were led by star Alicia Jaquez Alicia Jaquez 5'4" | CG Lordsburg | 2023 State NM who averaged 11.0points per game which led the team in scoring.
#7 Santa Rosa vs #10 Mesa Vista
Santa Rosa went 15-10 in the regular season and 4-2 in district play to place 2nd in district. They are one of this tournaments most underrated teams and can be a scary matchup for several teams. They were led by their seven seniors Janae Dunn, Anica Lucero, Asea Thompson, Madisyn Romero, Brooklyn Villanueva, Summer Storey and Ashwarya Kotiar. This roster has a lot of much needed experience for the state tournament. Mesa Vista finished the regular season at 18-8 and are one of the few teams that can post an upset alert as the #10 seed. They are led by Amarissa Quintana Amarissa Quintana 5'6" | SG Mesa Vista | 2023 State NM who is averaging 13.0 points per game and Tana Lopez Tana Lopez 5'4" | PG Mesa Vista | 2025 State NM who is averaging 12.9 points per game. They are one of the best scoring duos in this tournament.
#2 Clayton vs #15 Dulce
Clayton went 18-5 this season and secured the 2nd overall seed in this years state tournament and won their district title going undefeated in district play with a 6-0 record. This team is led by their seniors Hailey Holland, Samantha Craine, and Natalia Gonzalez. Clayton will be one of the favorites to win the state tournament this season. Dulce finished the season 10-12 and secured the 15th seed in this yeas state tournament. They cliched their spot in this years tournament with their solid record in district play at 4-2. This team was led by their team captain Jasmine Keith.
