Lets take a look at the Class A North Dakota EDC Tournament Semi-Finals and recap some of the top performers for the day and what made these athletes stand out from the rest of the crowd.
<strong>Torri Fee</strong> - Devils Lake - (5’6/PG/2025) - Torri scorched the Huskies in the semi-finals game. Fee has been the go-to player for the firebirds all season and she showed just why that was. She was efficient from beyond the arc shooting 6-11 and finishing with a 9-19 shooting from the field good for a game-high 26 pts. Other than posing as a scoring threat Fee is a complete package player. She’s a hustler grabbing 7 rebounds, not to mention the game-high of 7 assists. You couldn’t ask for more from a star player in the making.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="240256" first="McKena" last="Koolmo"]</strong> - Wahpeton - (5’9/SG/2023) - Koolmo did what she always does and that’s get buckets!! She finished the night perfect from the charity strike shooting 8-8. Efficient all around scoring percentages shooting 6-10 from the field and 2-3 from beyond the arc being good for 22 points. She has such a great eye on defense and reads cutters and passing lanes like a hawk waiting to strike. She finished with a game high 6 steals and pitched in 2 asssits to teammate [player_tooltip player_id="385165" first="Scout" last="Woods"].
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="385165" first="Scout" last="Woods"]</strong> - Wahpeton - (5’6/SG/2025) - The freshman phenom continues to strike gold. Scout tied [player_tooltip player_id="240256" first="McKena" last="Koolmo"] for a team high 22 points in ousting the Firebirds 73-66. Woods is such a versatile player that can hurt teams in so many ways. She almost went perfect from the charity strike as well shooting a health 8-10. She finished the game shooting 7-15 which is one of her more impressive stat lines through the year. She pitched in a team high 9 rebounds as well.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="257896" first="Mesiku" last="Hakim"]</strong> - Shanley - (6’0/SF/2024) - Mesiku is efficient! She’s perticular on her shot selection knowing she doesn’t need to settle with her build and physicality. She shot 6-9 from the field and tallied 6 rebounds. Mesiku is physical and fast. She’s a taller guard once she develops a better ball handling skill. She rarely makes mistakes or errant passes and ended the game against Fargo North perfect with 0 turnovers. Hakim helped advance Shanley to the next round beating North 44-39.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="199635" first="Grace" last="Miller"]</strong> - Fargo North - (5’11/SF/2022) - Miller is all guts and heart. She shot 5-10 from the field and added 3 steals to her cookie jar. The most impressive aspect of Miller is that she reads rebounds so well and predicts almost on the dot where the ball will come off. She snagged 4 offensive boards and gobbled up 11 defensive ones. Miller finished with an impressive state line for a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
