Lexi Bugajski Lexi Bugajski 6'0" | PF New Berlin Eisenhower | 2023 State WI -6’0 F-New Berlin Eisenhower
The Ike forward is one of the most versatile offensive players around. Her willingness as a passer makes her a dangerous player at the high post in particular. When Bugajski has the ball, she’s a legitimate triple threat. The Lion can hit shots from all over the floor, pick out passes that don’t seem possible, and beat her defender off the dribble. There is a chance that Eisenhower could compete for a Woodland-West title this season, with the seniors of Pius and Pewaukee graduating. If Eisenhower is at the top of the conference, it will likely depend on how well Bugajski plays next season.
Emma Jossie Emma Jossie 5'8" | PF Stevens Point (SPASH) | 2023 State WI -5’9 F-Stevens Point
Although Jossie is slightly undersized as a forward, she produces at an incredibly high level. She finished the season averaging 18 points and eight rebounds, and at times she was dominant. One of, if not the, most dominant game this season was played by Jossie against D.C. Everest. In that game, she scored 39 points on 14 of 15 shooting from the field, made six of her eight free throws, and all five of her 3-point attempts. Jossie is one of the most intriguing prospects because of how she projects. Size is a massive part of what some colleges look for in forwards, and she isn’t 6-foot-3, but she produces more than some kids getting those Division 1 looks.
Molly Anderson Molly Anderson 6'0" | PF Wausau West | 2023 State WI -5’11 F-Wausau West
When I think of what I’d want a forward to do, Anderson checks every box. A great example of what I’m talking about is the first game West played against Neenah. Anderson was excellent when she got inside the paint. She didn’t miss any of her nine shots inside the 3-point line and grabbed 10 rebounds against a sectional finalist in the best sectional in the state. I never got a chance to see them play this season, but everything I heard about them was positive. Anderson’s season was excellent, especially in a role where she isn’t the No. 1 scoring option. She contributed to winning.
Alicia Burgos Alicia Burgos 6'2" | PF Dominican | 2023 State WI -6’1 F-Dominican
I got to see Burgos Schroeder in the state semifinal game against Waupun. She was the one person that Waupun didn’t have a way to defend. When she would get fronted in the post, her size and concentration helped her earn some tough catches and easy layups. The Knight ended the game with a double-double at the Resch Center. I left that game with a very high opinion of her and what she does on the floor. I’m very excited to see what she does this summer with Chapman Elite.
