It was another sold-out event featuring 135 prospects from across the Northeast with dozens of coaches on the sidelines checking out the elite talent. It was hard to narrow down the top performers from the event but below is who made my “Mount Rushmore.”
Abby Bradbury Abby Bradbury 5'10" | CG Valley Regional | 2023 State New E | Valley Regional High | 5’9’’| CG |’23
At the last Hoop Mountain Showcase in September, Bradbury was the most impressive player, and she is on top again after her Sunday performance. She was the best and most creative scorer at the event and put on a show with off-the-dribble deep jump shots against elite defenders. Bradbury made scoring look easy and has a good combination of strength, ball-handling, and elusiveness to get past the perimeter defense and into the paint. Whenever I watch Bradbury in a setting where the lights are brightest, and all eyes are on her, she performs better than anyone by a landslide.
Gianna Nichols Gianna Nichols 5'7" | PG Worcester Academy | 2025 State New E | Marianapolis | 5’6’’ | PG | ’25
Coming off an impressive freshman campaign at Marianapolis, Nichols showed up to Hoop Mountain and immediately made an impact on the floor. The top-tier athleticism, speed, and on-ball defense go without saying when it comes to Nichols, but her playmaking on Sunday was what got my head to turn. Her passing and playmaking have improved exponentially, and she was making life a lot easier for the players around her. What is really impressive about Nichols’ performance is that she was surrounded by 4 other prospects she never played with and figured out on the fly how to maximize her teammates’ ceiling. That is what separates the good point guards from the great.
Genesis McNeil Genesis McNeil 5'11" | SG Juanita Sanchez | 2023 State New E | Juanita Sanchez | 5’10| G/F| ’23
I got to see McNeil in action for the first time on Sunday and loved how impactful she was on both sides of the floor. Her athleticism and length caught your eye immediately, and she was borderline unstoppable in transition. Watching McNeil get up and down the floor was jaw-dropping, whether off a turnover or rebound. She has the versatility to play 3-4 positions and can handle the ball on the perimeter making McNeil a scary scoring threat on the wing.
Kameryn Perry Kameryn Perry 5'11" | CG Choate Rosemary Hall | 2023 State New E | Choate | 5’11’’ | CG | ’23
Perry is one of the best at impacting the game without scoring, and she showed it again on Sunday. She is one of the best defenders, not just because of her size, but because of her instincts and IQ, as well. She makes good reads on passes and always puts herself in a position to be dynamic on defense. Perry rebounds well at the guard spot, and I loved how she pushed the tempo every time she got the ball in the open court. She is an unselfish player and accurate passer who can step out and nail three-pointers. There are so many things to like about Perry’s game, and she has the skill set that can mesh with any player on the court.
