Technically these players have been featured before yet not a lot so please enjoy something from a real evaluator
Emma Potts (Tompkins) Just Play Elite 17U Gold [2023]
Potts caught my eye while still in middle school which is why I stress the importance of using the search bar on my website and blog however I lost track of her, she had an injury, you’d never know it, and after watching some of her signature moves it all came back to me. She can score both off the dribble and with the jumper, solid defender that rebounds yet she can handle the ball in the open court and see the floor
Leslie Forun (George Ranch) Houston Fury Blue 17U [2023]
Forun is long and athletic, remember that’s the base yet the bass is also loud as she attacks from just about every angle imaginable and what I really enjoy is her body control and finishes after contact because it shows being FOCUSED especially when you know the hit is coming and speaking hit, yeah she can drop the jumper and that stop and pop in transition looked good on opening day but so did her playing the passing lane
Amari Chambers (Cy Creek) Houston United 17U [2023]
Chambers is also “long and athletic” with UPS and she uses her elevation to snag rebounds on both ends, yes I said snag, but she also uses that same elevation to block, alter or deflect shots but peep this, her ability to levitate, look it up, and finish definitely kept my attention throughout the event, so did her playing the passing lane but inside the paint, she was solid on defense and using that length outside of it, she did well “on the ball”
Holly Frith Holly Frith 5'8" Cinco Ranch | 2023 TX TNBA 17U [2023]
Frith does something I love to see and that’s knock down shots but guess what I enjoy, even more, her ability to “catch and shoot” and that quick release, with accuracy, definitely was a huge plus for her squad but as I add up other things, like her ability to take the defender off the dribble, with either hand as well as see the floor and make solid passes, that was nice as well. She also plays within herself and understands how to get hers “in the flow”
Lacie Williams (Rosehill Christian) IJU 17U
Williams definitely left a lasting impression a few months ago when I caught her high school squad playing at Lutheran North and as I play on words, her game continues to go upwards, get it, north, nevertheless much of what I say goes over the heads of many so her being 6’2 has her going over the heads of many on the court and her college-ready body enabled her to finish with players literally hanging over her. Solid rebounder and she’s running the floor well
