As we wrap up the new rankings for the 24 class we can’t forget about the Newcomers to the list! Here are the new additions to the list this year!
[player_tooltip player_id="326209" first="Avery" last="Mills"] 5’8 CG Liberty Christian Academy
The sharpshooter is a transfer from North Carolina. This was her first full year in Virginia and she did not disappoint. She led her team and scoring and is arguably the best shooter in the 2024 class and that was evident after only one season. She has all of the intangibles of a great shooter and is as knockdown as they come as a set shooter and off of the catch. This was a huge pick-up for Liberty Christian this season, and still has two years to add to her game!
[player_tooltip player_id="376352" first="Destinee" last="Salgado"] 6’0 PF North Stafford
Destinee had a big summer last season during AAU season she played well during to live period. Her great showing manifested an offer from the University of Richmond. She is athletic and can put the ball on the floor towards the basket. It looks like she could really make the full-time switch to the wing position and that has only elevated her game to new heights. Rumor has it she will be playing for team Durant EYBL this year so look out for her as that will only help her recruitment and have her as one of the top weapons in the class.
[player_tooltip player_id="387856" first="Ava" last="Sawi"] 5’9 CG Episcopal HS
She has really come on hard this season from Episcopal. Averaging 19 points a game and shooting over 85 percent from the free-throw line! Ava has great size and flashes elite ability. She also has consistently put up big numbers all year while being the focal point of opposing teams. These big numbers include two 30 point double-doubles and you do not typically see that at this level.
[player_tooltip player_id="376358" first="Lanijah" last="Williams"] 5’4 PG Shining Stars Academy
Don’t be fooled by her size! Fast quick Electric guard that has great vision and court awareness. Lanijah has a deadly hesitation dribble that will leave you stuck in your tracks. She is a good shooter from three even off the dribble. Her high school team plays against national competition throughout the year she has a couple of offers under her belt and will continue to get better every year.
[player_tooltip player_id="361047" first="Rayquel" last="Allen"] 5’8 CG Charlottesville HS
Rayquel is a quick fast off the dribble bucket getter. She not afraid to drive through traffic to get a layup. She is a great facilitator when she is at the point guard position. Rayquel had a big year this season making the first-team all-district and first-team all-region, she looks to take the momentum with FBC Havoc this summer.
