Dakota Alston Dakota Alston PG Detroit Edison | 2023 State MI (PG, Detroit Edison)
It goes beyond stats for Alston who can handle with the best of them and is a terrific passer. She was a key player on yet another DEPSA title team.
Paris Bass Paris Bass 5'11" | SF Wayne Memorial | 2023 State MI (2023, G/F, Wayne Memorial)
Bass was an all conference player on a state semifinalist Wayne Memorial team. She’s a high influence player on both ends of the floor.
Lexie Bowers Lexie Bowers 5'7" | CG Kent City | 2023 State MI (PG, Kent City)
Bowers is an elite shooter and scorer. She can shoot with the best in the midwest from behind the arc and was the go-to player on a championship game team.
Macy Brown Macy Brown 5'11" | PG East Grand Rapids | 2023 State MI (PG, East Grand Rapids)
Brown is an extremely talented lead guard that can score, dish and handle the ball all at an elite level
Mary Copple Mary Copple 5'7" | PG Brighton | 2023 State MI (PG, Brighton)
Copple absolutely went off this season, shooting the ball at an incredibly high clip. She paced her Brighton team all the way to a close regional final defeat.
Macey Fegan Macey Fegan 5'11" | SG Standish-Sterling | 2023 State MI (SG, Standish-Sterling)
Fegan was terrific all season, leading her team to a 4th straight district title. She averaged over 29 points per game.
McKenna Ferguson McKenna Ferguson 5'8" | SG Byron Center | 2023 State MI (SG, Byron Center)
Ferguson is a physical guard that has a reputation as a shooter, but in actuality, can score from multiple levels. She led her Byron Center squad a a district championship.
Mayla Ham Mayla Ham 5'11" | SF Wayne Memorial | 2023 State MI (SF, Wayne Memorial)
Ham was a 1st team all conference selection and a key piece in a deep playoff run. Her athleticism and versatility are just the start to her complete game.
Sydney Hendrix Sydney Hendrix 6'0" | SF West Bloomfield | 2023 State MI (F, West Bloomfield)
Hendrix is a big time forward that influences the game in so many ways. She’s a constant threat for a double-double and always seems to play big in big games. Hendrix was outstanding in the Final 4 of West Bloomfield’s state championship run.
Morganne Houk Morganne Houk 5'7" | SG Plymouth Christian Academy | 2023 State MI (SG, Plymouth Christian)
Houk is a player to watch heading in to next season. She’s a terrific shooter that has also developed the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. She was part of an elite backcourt that led Plymouth Christian all the way to the state title game.
Maddie Petroelje Maddie Petroelje 6'1" | SF Hudsonville | 2023 State MI (SF, Hudsonville)
Petroelje is as tough as they come and was a matchup nightmare all season long. Petroelje scored from all over the court this season and provided Hudsonville with a versatile defender.
Sarah Rambus Sarah Rambus 6'4" | PF IMG ACADEMY | 2023 State FL (PF, Flushing)
Rambus is one of the top power forward talents in the midwest. She led Flushing to an excellent regular season. Rambus is a beast in the open floor.
Shamya Reid Shamya Reid 5'5" | PG Westfield Prep | 2023 State MI (PG, Westfield Prep)
Reid is an elusive floor general that break down the D with her shiftiness and handles. Reid has helped put Westfield Prep on the map and made them a legitimate contender.
Emma Riley Emma Riley 5'7" | PG Fowler | 2023 State MI (PG, Fowler)
Riley is a very underrated guard and her and her team’s success speaks for itself. She was a heavily relied upon ball handler and scorer on a Fowler team that took home it’s second straight state title.
Janae Tyler Janae Tyler 5'11" | C Holt | 2023 State MI (C, Holt)
Anyone that watched Tyler play this season knows exactly why she’s on this list. She was absolutely unstoppable in the paint this season. Tyler controlled the glass and put herself in position to get quality looks at the rim.
Alyssa Wypych Alyssa Wypych 5'10" | PG Rockford | 2023 State MI (PG, Rockford)
Wypych showed all season that she could play both as a score first and pass first point guard. She showed a high basketball IQ and feel for the game. Wypuch led Rockford all the way to a close semifinal defeat to the eventual state champions.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Elyssa Kincaid Elyssa Kincaid 5'11" | PF Riverview | 2023 State MI (PF, Riverview)
This was a really tough class to choose. Players like Reid, Hendrix, Fegan, Wypych, and Copple all have legitimate claims to this award. But there was just something about Elyssa Kincaid Elyssa Kincaid 5'11" | PF Riverview | 2023 State MI this year. She wasn’t just a double-double threat, but was usually a triple-double threat on a nightly basis. Kincaid controlled all aspects of the game, playing excellent defense, crashing the boards, and being a go-to scorer on a very good Riverview team. She led them on a magical run all the way to the quarterfinals of the Division 1 state playoffs.
