Scouting Report: Always 100 Elite FL 2025 By Michael Wholey 3/27/22 10:00 AM EST The travel season is upon us and tournaments kicked off a couple weeks ago. We will begin with some team previews prior to some of the larger live events in April. We start off by taking a look at Always 100 Elite FL 2025. #2 [player_tooltip player_id="295788" first="Shay" last="Farley"] - 5’11” Wing / Forward Shay is long, athletic and has a strong frame. She is versatile on both the offensive and defensive end of the floor and can play both the wing and forward spots. She is an excellent 3-point shooter and can put the ball to the floor from the high post, wing, as well as take a defensive rebound and start the break. She has the ability to knock down the open shot off the catch and dribble, attack off the bounce, and finish as the rim. Her strong frame and size allows her to finish through contact and get to the free throw line often. She gives consistent effort on both ends, hitting the boards alive, getting her hands on a lot of balls, and very solid rebounder and defender. She is a high IQ player who has good court vision, gives up the ball unselfishly, and is a good passer. Her older sister Bailey Farley was an all-state player in Indiana and starter at NCAA division one Loyola Chicago and Wisconsin Milwaukee. #30 [player_tooltip player_id="244165" first="Ailani" last="Collazo"] - 5’7” Guard Ailani is a high energy player who gives consistent effort on both ends of the floor and plays hard from jump ball to final buzzer. She is a very effective perimeter shooter who shoots a high percentage from 3 and can put it to the floor and attack of the dribble as well. At 5’7 she can play both the point guard and shooting guard position but is most effective playing off the ball and catching it in scoring positions. She sees the court well, willingly makes the extra pass and does a good job attacking off the dribble, penetrating the lane and kicking it out to players for open shots. Collazo has a high basketball IQ and plays with an infectious energy on the court. #15 [player_tooltip player_id="346856" first="Sy’monique" last="Simon"] - 5’8” Guard Simon is an extremely versatile player with a non-stop motor. She only knows how to play the game at one speed- FAST! Her versatility, strength, and athleticism make her a unique player and combined with her ability to make clutch shots from the perimeter and attack the rim off the dribble, she is a tough match up! Because she plays with some much energy, she seems to always be around the ball and get lots of tips, deflections, steals, and 50/50 balls that are loose on the floor! She is a defensive stopper that is not afraid to guard the opposing teams best player and plays with a ton of passion and has a very high ceiling with a ton of potential! #1 [player_tooltip player_id="275339" first="Maya" last="Collins"] - 5’10” PG Collins is a true point guard, serving as a floor general when she is on the court. She is mature for her age and plays the game with a high basketball IQ, a cool, calm, and collected composure and has shown an advanced basketball IQ that she understands the game above her age. Collins likes to play up tempo and likes to attack in transition and create open shots and scoring opportunities for teammates by playing in the full court and penetrating down hill. She is a high percentage 3-point shooter who is a skilled offensive player who can score in a variety of ways. She is a very efficient passer, who does a good job leading players to the basket and has excellent touch on lead passes. She understands spacing concepts and appropriate angles, using her IQ just as much as her athleticism. #32 [player_tooltip player_id="404143" first="Sofi" last="Miller"] - 6’1” Forward Miller has a big, strong frame and plays with an intense desire to win and high motor. Her offensive skill set down low is polished and mature for her age. She has multiple moves, excellent footwork and can finish with both hands around the rim. At 6’1 she can play down low with her back to the basket as well as face up and can attack from the high post, short corner, and wing as well as knock down the open 3. She is a dominant rebounder, consistently pursuing balls and chasing down 50/50 balls and is not afraid to dive on the floor or to get hit with contact or initiate contact. She has unlimited energy and plays the game with ton of passion and is fun to watch as well as play with. #25 [player_tooltip player_id="248701" first="Ava" last="Sims"] - 5’8” Guard Sims is a tenacious defender that loves to pressure opposing teams point guards in the full court and half court and has a ball hawk mentality. She has a strong frame with broad shoulders and uses it effectively on both the offensive and defensive ends. Sims has range out to 3-point line, can knock down the open mid-range jumper off the catch and off the dribble on the pull up and attacks the basket with force. She has good decision making skills, using her passing skills to set her teammates up for easy shots. #7 [player_tooltip player_id="248450" first="Arianna" last="Viera"] - 5’6” Guard Vera has a high basketball IQ and is a willing and creative passer. She sees the floor very well, seeing angles and openings very well for such a young age, leading her teammates to easy shots that sometimes they do not even see until Viera makes the pass. She has a strong mid-range perimeter game, shooting a high percentage from 15” off the catch and on the pull-up and can step out and knock down the open 3. She is a very good defender who plays defense with intensity and a ton of energy. #11 [player_tooltip player_id="248452" first="Erialys" last="Lopez"] - 5’9” Forward Lopez is a solid all-around player on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor who plays with a lot of strength, especially around the basket. She gives consistent effort on the boards, pursuing balls and going to the glass with persistence. Her energy, intensity, and tenacity is very apparent to anyone watching Lopez on the defensive end of the floor and her teammates feed off her! In addition to being a very good rebounder and defender, Lopez is a solid outside shooter and a willing and skilled passer. Michael Wholey is the lead scout for Florida Prep Girls Hoop Florida and a former division one Assistant Coach at American University, University of Memphis, and Georgia Tech. Wholey and the rest of the Prep Girls Hoop staff, seek to cover the entire state of player, keeping subscribers up to date with player evaluations, recruiting info, and statewide news. Our audience often supplies us with some of our best information. If you have any information on players, teams, or statewide news in the state of Florida, emailing Michael Wholey at WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com or DM him through Twitter or Instagram @WholeyPrepHoops.
